People who listen to real hardcore at least stand by their point of view. I bet most of the **** you guys think is hardcore isn't real hardcore punk.

I have yet to hear any mainstream emo music, but personally, I think the emo culture is bad enough. He's probably trying to completely associate the music with the culture, which may not be necessarily true.

I found a couple "Emo" bands I like.

See: LoveHateHero, Across Five Aprils, Yesterdays Rising (If you call them emo).

I still don't like the lyrics, but it's good music.

I wouldn't call Bullet For My Valentine hardcore. All That Remains is pretty good though.

All That Remains is awesome, but what genre would you put BFMV in? My friends said they were a hardcore band. But would you just say metal or would you be more specific?

Trust me, I'm a metal head. I probably know more about metal than you can ever dream about. But I don't dig people spewing crap about other people's music tastes, purely because it's not what you like.

If it's the music that makes them happy then so be it. We have enough problems keeping our freedoms from the government; the last thing we need is to start chastising each other based on their personal choices.

Metalcore. All That Remains is metalcore too. Hardcore = Hardcore Punk. I'm sick of people calling bands like Atreyu Hardcore. It's not that it's bad music (I like a lot of metalcore), but it's like calling Metallica Jazz music. The genres are completely different.
