No, not pent-up anger at all. Just saying it started there, and it's just an example of people spewing misinformation over things they don't understand and being needlessly bitter

      Re: Turbulence in my face

When you insult them, as much as it's "just over the internet", it does cause some bit of resentment and anger, and bitterness. We all wish we had 100% of the information 100% of the time, but that's not the way the world works. People are smarter than others, some flaunt the fact that they are better than everyone else... But in my opinion, excessive arrogance leads you nowhere, even if that arrogance is justified.

Since you did everything you could to prove your legitness, then people can make up their own opionions. If they are the wrong ones, ignore it or coax them to the fact. You are a smart man after all. =D

Sadly, such is the culture surrounding the brag boards of competitive games [though I do believe the fact that StepMania (in conjunction with the Internet) is inherently competitive to be utterly appalling). Half of the people here don't know what they're talking about, yes, but those that do are generally, though not always, correct.

I know not if you were present, but there was a small period during which many FFR players joked that, "go AAA Caprice or something lulz." Some of them were simply met with, "o that'll never happen whoever does that is instant bs."

It was only inevitable that when you got the scores you did, you were besieged by unsupported calls of BS and the accompanying flames. Even with all the proof in the world, it is still next to impossible to turn the opinions of every doubter.

You really shouldn't care about what people think of your legitimacy. If you are indeed legit, then it is written in stone that you did achieve those scores. You don't need the belief of others to maintain the truth of the factual. Let those who believe you continue to do so, and allow those that don't to stew in their own ignorance.

        And, if you aren't legit......

......go dye in sum thundarstaorm lulz

          Re: Turbulence in my face

Whenever there is a given game or sport or record or ability to beat, people have always placed artificial limits on things. This is getting a bit too "philosophical" though, but I'll still get into it anyway. I mean look at the 4-minute mile. Before the 1950's, people said it was impossible, then Bannister came along. Then many more. Before the 1980's, people said 13 seconds would be the theoretical limit of a Rubik's Cube speedsolve, and now we have people clocking sub-10's. When people place these artificial limits, it only causes damage and hinders progress because they already assume their potentials have a barrier. You see it all the time -- people claiming something is impossible, and then someone does it, and then suddenly a lot of people find it possible. You can see how people are getting sdg's on Caprice, so clearly those joking that "Caprice AAA's" were impossible a long time ago were simply narrow-minded. I've proven that I can do what I say under various conditions and requests, and so those that are still asses about it can just go continue playing with their tunnelvision.

"You don't need the belief of others to maintain the truth of the factual. Let those who believe you continue to do so, and allow those that don't to stew in their own ignorance."

And this is pretty much what I'm doing now. I play for fun, and you don't need a community of ignorant people to have fun with a given game, no matter what your skill level is.

I found a perfect example of my point, read joev's post in the following link:

I'm not saying it's "easy" to do well at something, but I've played these games enough to get to that skill level, and people placing limits on things they don't fully understand is silly. Imagine that everyone in the DDR/ITG/SM/FFR community were isolated from one another and then they began to play. The average skill level would be MUCH lower than it is now due to lack of competition. Remember when Max 300 used to be hard as hell? Now nobody really cares about an AAA on foot because so many have done it even though it was impossible. Remember all the BS calls on Yasu and Taka? It's the same old story.

It was not so much as the feat itself, but the vast difference between your performance on songs and that of the previous recordholders. Well, that and the fact that you appeared seemingly from out of nowhere, but that is mostly irrelevant.

Which therefore means you stop to debate only because you enjoy doing so.

            :argumentative impasse oops:

I have no say in whether or not you can like arguing, but I highly recommend that you keep it to a minimum, unless you know that everyone else agrees that the victim is a flaming half-brained nimrod.

Of course, I'm willing to bet that you perceive a significant portion of FFR as such, but eh...

For the most part, what you choose to do from this point on is no longer my concern. Hopefully your decisions will be appreciably rational. If not, well...

Da ist nicht viel zu machen.

"Which therefore means you stop to debate only because you enjoy doing so." Yes.

However, you're right in that it should probably be kept to a minimum. Debating people is more fun when people have a better idea about what they're discussing. I'll hold my opinions of the FFR community static until shown differently, but I do appreciate your posts here -- very refreshing compared to everything else here.

I would like to note though, I don't berate people unless they try to start something. Otherwise I have little incentive to debate them, you know?

Haha, you need not hold your opinions static, but the ideal choice is to hold your tongue (or typing, hehe) unless the need rises to a point where it's impossible not to intervene.

Problem is I see opportunity to intervene often Holding my tongue is hardly ideal to holding my opinions constant.

I don't have much to say other then these three simple points

ONE: Has anyone noticed after Rubix's first long post smartdude has been conspicuously absent?

TWO: I have a great deal of respect for Rubix and his obviously high power of intellect but his unsurpassed ability to argue a point with utmost precision. AND he kicks ass at ffr XD

THREE: Turbulence can suck my left nut cuz my PA sucks at it. VERY nice score

PS: I happened to find Rubix's line that originally started this entire argument in the first place quite hysterical
