Because you're wrong about like 60% of the crap you say. Just because I have rank 1 doesn't mean I am of "higher status," if anything it's because my real-life accomplishments kick ass, and because most people here are stupid... as shown by your lovely argument of fluids in an attempt to stir-up needless namecalling and drama. That's what most of the people here at FFR do. They spew garbage about things they know nothing about and then needlessly flame and perpetuate even more misinformation (as you just did in the above post), and then start whining when I attack them back with evidence for their stupidity and why it's useless for you to argue with me about **** I know more than you about.

Oh, I forgot, you guys don't have any! If *you* had common sense you'd realize your argument is 100% moot here because it's simply a false assumption. Never have I implied such a thing. Unfortunately most of the people here latch onto ridiculous things. "Oh, he has sex" "Oh he plays Smash Brothers!" Come ON, you guys. Are you honestly this braindead? Why on earth would I use those things to establish higher status? I have much more meaningful, useful, and skillful attributes to establish something "higher" if I so chose, which actually is not something I normally brag about unless someone tries to needlessly establish superiority over me as so many people have done here with misinformation. And THAT is my serious response as to why I reply the way I do.
Honestly, the only reason I'm an ass to people is because they're an ass in the first place and have it coming, and it's fun to show how people are wrong. It's really simple, and most people completely nosedive it because it's the internet, and they can't handle the heat. Bunch. Of. Babies. Haha.
tl;dr version: Don't argue with me over things you don't understand and attach needless flaming to it in the process. If people were civil, there wouldn't be any e-drama. Hooray needless frustration. Sweet score whoever you are. Rubix calm down. We all like to flaunt our writing skills and typistically destroy someone now and again, but please. You're arguing about ****ing fluids and gases for christ's sake. Listen to yourself. I know Ravia was completely out of line and made quite an ignorant post, but you should be on enough of a higher mindset to just skip past it realizing what pointless drama you'd start by replying in such a manner. Next time I'd suggest just leaving it alone. You seem to have done such a good job at it elsewhere; I don't know why this is what would make you blow up. Although, it always is the smallest things that piss people off the most.

Just because you can accomplish something without having to suffer any concrete ramifications doesn't exactly give merit to going through with it.
You've said it yourself; this is the Internet. Especially in a place like FFR Forums, real-life accomplishments count for approximately nothing, at least directly.
In a community such as this, the response with which you have been met is typical in regard to the circumstances.
You may not have the self-awareness to realize this (although with the intelligence you so claim to possess, it shouldn't be difficult), or more dishearteningly, perhaps you do...but most of your retorts in some way or another contain a trace of undue elitism. This appraisal, of course, is subject only to those upon whose ears (or in this case, eyes) your words fall. Rather than the actual content of the posts, it's more of your wording and the resulting overweening assertiveness that causes the sparks to fly. Unsurprisingly, your own replies ultimately function as yet more kindling for the flames, so pointing fingers at any one party is somewhat meaningless, as it takes two to argue.
I would hope that someone of your supposed intellectual caliber would know to handle such affairs with tact, but I've seen nothing of the sort recently. Debating over matters such as those in the Critical Thinking forum is one thing...arguing over trivial matters and doing so in the way of which these past few weeks have shown contributes only to a spectacle of both shame and shamelessness.

Call it arrogant -- but I'm rarely wrong about things, although I can accept when I *am* wrong. However, most people's ideas of "proving me wrong" involve ignorant crap like in this very thread, as well as countless others.
Lightshark: Yes, I agree. I know many of my posts are "elitist," and I know that this is the Internet -- and I have fun with it, and this is reason enough to go through with being an ass. I'm also aware that my posts keep the flames going -- I'm not oblivious, I understand perfectly what I say and do, as well as the consequences that arise. The only difference is that it allows me to flame people by pointing out their fallacies. In other words, I act the way I do here for simple utility gain.
I do disagree with your civility statement. I've allowed people to be civil. Most of this actually stems from FFR scores, obviously. Most people, in response, sling around misinformation and BS calls and flaming (as opposed to asking legitimate questions about something they either don't understand or doubt for whatever reason).
