lol wtf @ Wii Fit... xD Miyamoto is in charge of it. Over 40 activities, though the ones I've seen were easy. Uses the Wii Balance Board, which could be put into use in future games. It measures weight and balance (and it's wireless of course). Sucks it uses BMI for measurement.
you know i have been a fan of nintendo and sony since loong time, more of nintendo though, in fact the only reason i bought a ps1 and a ps2 was for square-enix games, and i don't know if you noticed but i didn't saw anything new of FFXIII, (well not in G4TV) also i agree with the fact that the ps3 and XBOX360 are having TOO MANY SHOOTERS, in fact all the exclusives are shooters, i like some shooters (metroid prime, resident evil 4, killzone) but still nintendo always brings some kind of balance, people say nintendo is childish, well yes they are childish but also they have M games, because is not fair for the little kids (pointing at microsoft wich the few games that are for kids, are movie based)
also i don't belive in good graphics, there are lots and lots of games that are HORRIBLE but still with the greatest graphics (devil may cry 2, movie based games, final fantasy dirge of cerberus) and what matters on a game is GAMEPLAY THAT'S WHY IS CALLED GAME, new generation means something, sony and microsoft are doing the exact same thing than the last generation, making consoles with better graphics.
by the way, the new psp model is lighter, has more battery and it comes in different colors, ummmmmmm doesn't sound familiar? oh yeah i think i heard that from the DS LITE, also when the nintendo revealed the wii remote, sony misteriously changed the control of the ps3 for one with motion controls too, and when the mii's were presented, sony had created something similar, ummm this makes me wonder it is a coincidence?
Why do people speak of graphics and gameplay as though they were mutually exclusive?
Also, none of what you said is nothing a ****load of people have already said before. These arguments have been made before, we don't need to hear them again,.

well is a forum, i can give my opinion too, also yes they are mutually exclusive, since the ps3 and the 360 can't have the same gameplay lvl as the wii, and the wii can'y have the same lvl of grahpics as the other ones.
ummm nintendo media show wasn't really good after all it was all about how much money they got, still you got to admit even if nintendo is not making many hardcore games they still give my mom an excuse to buy me games XD, she got exited with wii fit jajaja, and hey mario kart for wii is good news
So you're saying a game can't have both great gameplay and great graphics?
well in the last generation that was possible both great graphics and gameplay of the same lvl. but times have changed, there are great differences between consoles. now yeah some wii games have good graphics but is still on your mind that the others are better. same with the 360 and the ps3. gameplay can be great but still is not compared with some wii games. i think i have to be more specific, is not that they can't have both things but it can't have the same lvl as other systems.
Ducky's right. It's impossible for the Wii to have graphics equal to the PS3 or 360, but it is no impossible for either of them to have great gameplay. Trends and past history can be used to try and prove it, but there is always a chance, and I'm sure the PS3 and 360 will produce some games with great gameplay.
So great gameplay on the level of the Wii isn't possible on the PS3 or 360, eh? Please explain.
what i mean in a very detailed way is that even though ps3 and 360 games may have great gameplay. however the wii's combination between gameplay and his controls makes it more fun and inmersive. example resident evil 4 one of the best games of last generation, it has a port on the wii. the point and motion actions makes the wii version better than the other ones. same with the legend of zelda twilight princess is better on wii because of the controls. of course some games have clumsy controls (third party developers to blame) but the ones with great gameplay and controls used correctly makes them better. imagine halo or oblivion on the wii and you'll see (well dragon quest swords is similar to oblivion anyway)
Motion controls are great and all, but whether or not it's more fun than playing with conventional controls is completely subjective. Wii's gameplay is different, yes, but to say it's better that the old way of playing is to assume that changing is the same as improving. Not everyone likes the motion controls, and even those that DO like the motion controls probably still play plenty of games that use a conventional controller.
And gameplay is more than just the controls. It's about the game's ability to keep you interested, it's about the challenge presented in the game, and in some cases it's whether or not it's enjoyable to play with friends. I would rather play a game with traditional controls that does all those things than play one that has unique controls that doesn't.
By the way, Odin Sphere has great gameplay and beautiful graphics, and it's on the PS2. To say that you can't have both great graphics and great gameplay in this generation, which has more potential on both ends than last, is laughable.
Consider that great graphics doesn't always mean "realistic". Look at Okami and Odin Sphere. Neither of them have realistic graphics, but you can't deny that the graphics are stunning.
