ahh, yes i have that pelican pad also, its fairly good, yea it is 40$, but its kinda hard to get it set up the first time, make sure you put the batteries in right, they take a little bit of work O.o

for the pad though, it has a pretty nice non-slide coat on the bottom, and the pad itself is well constructed, as far as soft pads go. it even glows in the dark!!

I have to say that I'm quite happy with my original Konami pad. Unlike the DPR2, it doesn't fold up while playing... which is NOT good at all. As for the more expensive ones, I really can't talk, because I'm a cheap fsck and haven't even looked at anything better. But my Konami pad that came bundled with MAX2 hasn't died or anything yet. So I like it.
