It's funny how people target Arch because he flames. Oh my god, call a fire truck to put this 5-alarmer out. Christ.

Synth and jewpin make fun of people a lot and no one ever rags on them for it.
I watched clouds awobbly from the floor o' that kayak. Souls cross ages like clouds cross skies, an' tho' a cloud's shape nor hue nor size don't stay the same, it's still a cloud an' so is a soul. Who can say where the cloud's blowed from or who the soul'll be 'morrow? Only Sonmi the east an' the west an' the compass an' the atlas, yay, only the atlas o' clouds.

It's his style of flaming that gets people worked up. Apparently, people just can't stand anger swords.

How is there a "style" to flaming? Calling someone a moron in two words is no different from doing it in fifty.

On a side note, I suddenly have a hunch that the WSC is indirectly responsible for this.

EDIT: Forget that - while what happened in that topic might've been a back-breaking straw, it's not a real cause.

Flaming usually involves swearing. Jewpin and Synth stick more with sarcasm.

All I know is that I edit a lot, and I lock a lot too (think back...to the time of "secret songs"). I do flame, but as chardish says, I try to stick to "sarcasm". Occasionally, I will flip out. Personally, I have nothing against Arch and I have not noticed anything wrong. The only thing that I disagree with is the justifying of the locking-ness, if it needs a justification, I will do it.

Do I think the mods are doing a good job? Sure, why not? I think I am doing a good job at least.

No offense Arch, but to me, this thread seems like you are trying to rally your troops.

Save the drama for your mama...I recently heard that somewhere, and to me, that fits perfectly to what I am trying to say. It is an internet forum...moreover, an Internet Forum about a flash game. Things on here arent to be taken seriously. It is the internet....a collection of nerds, perverts, 13 Year-old-Girls, and Geeky-teenage-perverts (w00t for me). Is this really nessecary? I think if someone had a problem with the modding, then someone would have said something, yeah? If not, THEN FOREVER HOLD YOUR PEACE. (Or if you were a Gangsta..."Foreva' hold your piece, bitch", and then you inflict a wound on someone with your gun).

Basically what I am trying to say is "shut up". All of you. I go away to watch Love Actually for 3 hours and come back to this. Fighting is not needed. Dont hate yo. You are not keeping it real.

            So keep it real.

I think being an administrator is all about being a Leader(a server of the people), in the end you are here for one reason, to make the site better for the customers. In the past Arch0wl, you have demonstrated good and bad qualities. However, your bad qualities continue to surface and ruin your image in front of those who you serve. That's right, serve. As administrators, you have much power, but don't let that power cloud your judgement, tricking you into thinking that you are a boss, you are not bosses, you are managers and leaders. And as a Manager and Leader, it is important to remember a few things.

                  1. Professionalism is everything- You may need a little more growing up to understand this, but respect is always accompanied by professionalism. You may say, "OMG, this is a flash game site." Yes it is, however, it is also an organization and in every organization the same cardinal rules apply, no matter what the level of scale might be. Not saying you must be serious all the time. Hell no. However you should know when to walk the line, however thin that line may be.
                  2. Leadership by example- This is extremely important, the only way to gain respect as a leader is to lead by example. The only way to embody positive principles into your followers is to embrace them yourself. Act like you want the posters to act, if you constantly flame with curse words and juevenile wordage, they will do the same, their are plenty of ways to stay professional and make an idiot pay for his or her idiotic posts. I.E. Sarcasm.
                  3. Maturity- Self Explainatory
                  4. Mutual Respect- Have respect for other people, no matter how BS you might think they are, this will give you more respect. Treat people like people and work towards the good of the site, this will cause your "subordinates" to see that all of your intentions are well, so when you have to do something others might consider asanine, you can do it, and they will understand. But never demean others based on a hunch or opinions. I.E. Keynza, This makes you look like a selfish person.

I hope my words have helped a little bit, for everyone.

I'm sure by my post you can infer which way I voted.

There's a difference between flaming and insulting. Synth and jewpin insult people. Arch flames people.
Reach: there was this bee. i hate bee\'s...i tryed to kill it, but then it didn\'t die and it started making weird noises so i was like oh (#$% hes gonna sting me. i started running but i triped over some rock and rolled down a hill into the river.

Synth is brutally honest that's about all I can say, especially when someone talks shit about FFR itself. They don't have to say it sucks or anything like that seriously come on..

And Jewpin, well said seriously..couldnt of been better.

                      EDit-

IT does sound like he's gathering people..It's as if he knows sometime in the future he'll have trouble and everyone will be after him and he'll have all the forum people to stand up for him saying he's doing fine.

Personally I think Arch0wl' although not a failure, has not been the best admin ever. I think that a negative demeanor and creation of flamewars has followed his becoming a mod. I think that the flaming between Arch, Makaveli, and VxDx really did the forum harm. If you want to keep this site running well, I think several things need to be done.
                          1. As Spec said, you have to seem very professional. For one, (although Arch doesn't do this) don't use AIM slang or leet or anything. Speak in coherant and articulate sentances, and that alone will help alot. The good public speaker is he who can convey his argument well, not he whose argument is more supported by the evidence. Also, not directed to Arch specifically, dividing the forums and seeming elistist, (being elistist is fine) causes dischord. If you look at forums where n00bs are insulted alot, the n00bs stop coming to the forum and it does not grow.
                          2. Make people a bit afraid of you. As Niccolo Machivelli said, "It is better to be feared than it is to be loved." A good mod makes people afraid to trash talk or spam. Although banning does not do anything to scare people, contacting ISP's can really do damage. Also, take down all the personal information you can get from anyone who spams or trolls (except in good taste lol) and tell them that if this continues you will make sure that you will do all that is legally possible to make them pay, but the fear is much stronger than the actual action. If people think they will pay for messing up the forums, they will think twice before doing so.
                          3. Have a regular system for locking/ deleating threads/ banning users. If the manner of moderating forums or punishing users is kept constant and publically known, it will be violated less. For example, in my opinion, threads should be personally locked or deleated by mods/ admins, (but save the deleated ones somewhere) but anyone who thinks it is worth the time can appeal it, if they think it is really worth it and do something that takes time to support it. For example, you could have a system of appeal where a user has to write a one page essay and send it over AIM to a mod or admin, and then the mods and admins would have to discuss the thread/user/post as a group.
                          4. Do not hold grudges, and if you do, do not state them publically. If a mod holds grudges, all the posers in the forum will suck up and agree with the mod. This leads to users being hated for no reason and creates discontent and hatred in the forums. Just keep your opinions of whos cool and who is not to your self.

Hopefully this forum will continue to be well modded and improve. With a forum of this size, we need mods who act professional.

Yes this is a big one, you cannot hold grudges, and if you do, you cannot make them public.
