The next album im buying is Rhapsody of Fire's New album.

Not that good actually. It lacks in speed in power and has way too many ballads. Mystic Prophecy owns though.

not to be dissing COB but like alot of metalheads like them but i think the singer sounds like hes constapaded, and it annoys the hell out of me, just to make clar im NOT making fun or dissing COB, i just dont personally like them, and in flames, i havnt really heard much of except for on headbangers ball(when i did watch it) which the song i heard was take this life and i didnt like it.

I've never heard anything wrong with Alexei's voice, except on the first album where he's not really growling since he didn't know how to do it/the mic sucked.

yeah rhapsody is defainatly NOT steplablabable because it needs more speed and POWER because POWER is the most important element in POWER metal

I've also been listening to Sun O))). They're extremely odd but still metal. Also, Doom Metal is starting to sound pretty cool. My favorite so far is Forest of Shadows.

doom and sludge and ambient metal is completely different than the stereotypical heavy metal (that this thread is limited to judging on most of the posters)

Still has the caracteristics of metal. Also, most of the more "modern" metal has denied the blues roots for a more classical approach.

Sludge is the ****. There's a local band that plays it, and it's amazing.
