    Good day, sir.
Why bother? This is a good example of the metal kid who doesn't give a flying **** about other people's opinions and only listens to his. Blatant ignorance.

Well, I know it's been a week, but I saw an interesting video on Youtube.

TI is a person who makes this kind of music, but even he knows how things should go. Watch it and see for yourself what he has to say.

Re: Rap Music Bad Influence On Kids?

Okay, well on the original question:

I think that what music you listen to, lyrics mostly, have an effect on you whether you notice it or not. You hear it, it registers, it's there forever. Younger kids though, who aren't as keen when it comes to common sense as most adults, are obviously more effected by what they hear. By younger I mean from when they learn basic English and can understand most of what they hear to about 16 or 17.

The way rappers and recording companies advertise their material doesn't help either. They put ads on kids' sites with half-naked women in erotic poses advertising music and such.

How the media world is now, they aim for younger kids. Mostly because they are more vulnerable to their clever ads, and also because a lot of kids know how to work large amounts of money out of their parents.

The really sad and sick thing is that those companies KNOW what they're doing to modern youth, and continue to do it without so much as feeling the least bit of guilt. The two top rulers of humanity are money and advertisements because they are needed and/or can't be avoided.

Modern rap is terrible. The old 90s rap is wonderful because the lyrics had true meaning. Even if that meaning was to glorify criminality, at least it had an argument, a good rhythm, and ingenius rhymes. But now it boils down to sex sex sex and guns.

As to being a bad influence, they are as bad an influence as TV and video games. It definitely should not be stifled.
Every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilizations, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every hopeful child, every mother and father, every inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every superstar, every supreme leader, every saint and sinner in the history of our species, lives here on a mote of dust, suspended in a sunbeam.

I agree with you definatly. As I mentioned in my older posts, Tupac was all about the inner struggles of the black community. Being a white person, I couldn't fathom what kind of things go down. To be poor and homeless and having to fight for everything. He's definatly a great inspiration to my generation and many more to come.

The argument being forwarded by quite a few well-known members of the black community is that this stuff is -contributing- to the inner struggles of the black community, not just talking about them, making them -worse-

I dont listen to rap but from what i see and hear and really isnt the music that is making the kids act this way its more of the kids trying to be like their favorite rap artist so that they can show off to their friends and be top dog or something...well thats what i think about the situation

Kids will always find something to be a bad influence for them, I figure, if you are a good parent, your kid won't turn out to be a dumbass like me. I personally, hate rap, and think it should be annihilated not for its bad influences, but for just being genuinely uncreative and one of the few types of sounds that isn't actually music but for whatever reason is still classified as such. However, I'm just happy the disturbing boy band fad is over.

Both of you have very good points, I'd never thought so many kids would do that.

Did you know that rap beats are actually slowed down techno beats? That's how I see it.
