I'm surprised....I didn't know people actually liked Linkin Park.
Linkin Park was the first (and only) band I've ever seen in concert, and the only band whose CDs were so appealing that I now own their entire discography.
I'll admit they're emo and that I don't really associate with their lyrics, but they have a unique and amazing sound.
ps that concert was amazin~ It was the first concert of the Meteora World Tour with P.O.D, Hoobastank, and Story of the Year.

pps hoobastank is awesome live~
Now see i am a hoobastank fan as well but my friend hates them because he has the complete opposite opinion of them live. Huh, i havent really heard them live so i cant say.
In any case, i think everyone at one point or another has listened to and liked AT LEAST one Linkin Park song. Its a guilty pleasure we all once had or still do have. They have a certain style of originality that appeals to many people.
im pre ordering the limited edition set thing...i have to for my protest music project...since their music video what ive done is about global warming racism stem cell research pollution nuclear warfare and stuff like that...i cant wait for it though...

I don't think their lyrics are "emo," they just aren't that good. I mean, of all the mainstream bands out there, Linkin Park is one of the most tolerable and I respect that they are going outside of their genre, but I still don't dig their music.
There new CD is actually good, it just took a while to get used to.
I love there intro things and their song "Wake" is a true testament what it is to get excited for a song. For their softer songs I had to really listen to the lyrics to truly enjoy them, otherwise I was left with "something is missing" feeling.
In Pieces is amazing because it applies directly to me, in a recent relationship, actually, most of their songs (if not all) apply to me and I know its not just me, but its not like I go make a shrine about it.
I don't like to classify Linkin Park as emo because of the energy that their songs have. This new album is pretty good and I'd definitely have to say that its up there. I feel however it falls behind Meteora and eh, neck and neck with Hybrid theory (I'm one of few fans who liked Meteora better than Hybrid theory, *shrug*).
I'm going to buy it anyway, like I do all their albums.
Edit: What I've done is good, I like what they did with it and I do think the Music Video is actually quite fitting if you look at it from a cause and effect standpoint.
Are you Loyal?
Nows the time to choose
Die and be free of pain.
Or live and fight your sorrow.
So far, the only song I don't really like is Given Up. It doesn't sit well with me for whatever reason, but it's still not bad compared to most music that's on the radio today.
Another thing I've noticed is that they finally got out of their generic formula. It used to be:
Yea, I really hope it's good. I'm not entirely sure what to expect, which I guess is the great thing about LP, is that they have such a diverse style, and you never know what's gonna come next. You can predict, but you never know.
You mean you can order it online so that you can get it on the 15th or within a few days of it without having to go to the store? Or can you buy the tracks and download directly?
I lost interest in LP after that Collision Course thing. But to say that MTM sounds like the gap between their old and new stuff doesn't make any sense to me.
