The movie was disappointing. It wasn't exactly bad, but it was very much subpar for the Spiderman movies. There were just far too many flaws, and Topher Grace was a ****ty Venom.

I agree with guido, mostly because I was expecting this movie to be so amazing that it completely blew the first two away, but it was just an alright movie.

So my friend at school came up with a reason why himself and many other people did not like this movie. He calls it, The Pussy Fastor. Why? EVERYONE in that movie crys at least once. Seriously. Everyone.
Peter? A couple times. MJ? Yep. Harry? Check. Brock? Uh-huh (at the church scene). Aunt May? Yap. Sandman? yeah.
You get the idea.

Saw it today. It disappointed me. The acting was horrible. Peter, during his time of being the black Spiderman, was just... dumb and so emo. It was totally out of character, and the whole dancing part was just totally irrelevent to the movie. Venom was horribly portrayed and WAY too weak. We didn't even know his name from the movie. We had to rely on previous knowledge, and the knowledge from people who know the comic to tell us about Venom.
The fight scenes were okay... but totally unrealistic. When Spiderman was fighting the Sandman and Venom, he fought them ONE at a time. If the villans were really trying to bring down spiderman, they would obviously work together to crush him.
A lot of things were badly explained in the movie as well.
Overall, horrible compared to the first and second movie, but worth watching if you've seen the first two, just to find out what exactly happens.

hmm wow ur so observant to notice that his behavior was differnet when he was being affectd by the symbiote

Yeah, because owning Peter in close combat shows how weak he is.
We didn't even know his name from the movie.
Who cares?

No, because everyone who saw the movie would go "oh the goo makes people mean and peter got rid of the goo and the goo got onto Eddie Brock and made him evil". They don't need to know that he goes by the name Venom in every other incarnation of the story.

Yeah, when I go to see a movie about a person with super powers inspired by spiders who obtained said powers by being bitten by a certain spider, I want realism. And this Sandman bull****? No thanks, I want a realistic villain like generic thug #1. I don't want this super villain with amazing power and strength; I want a person with real abilities. And symbiote from outer space? **** don't even get me started on that load of malarky.
When Spiderman was fighting the Sandman and Venom, he fought them ONE at a time.
Yeah like when he was getting clobbered by Sandman while Venom held him down. Definitely fought them one at a time. Or maybe you mean that he should have been throwing punches at Venom at the same time he was shooting impact webbing at Sandman. If so, I agree. I would have loved to see him try to fight both of them at the same time even though one alone would have been enough to overpower him.
In all seriousness, the times when he's fighting Venom alone, he's up high and Sandman is stuck down on ground level. When he's fighting Sandman on the ground you'll see that Venom comes down and this is when Venom holds him down. This is also when Harry comes and turns it into a 2 vs 2 fight.
If the villans were really trying to bring down spiderman, they would obviously work together to crush him.
Not really. I was actually upset by the team up of Sandman and Venom. Sandman really had no reason to want to kill Spider-man, yet he basically did his best to (and logically, Peter should have been dead after only a few smashes). And as for Venom, he didn't need any help. He should have hunted down Peter himself.
A lot of things were badly explained in the movie as well.
Name one thing that was left unexplained that needed to be explained.

"Horrible"? Hell no. Are the first and second films better? I'd say yes.
i liked it a lot, the fight scene with all 4...pretty kickass...
but nothing too special imo, even tho it was a decent length movie
it felt too short, esp the parts with venom...it was like there he is...and ok he's gone now
<3 venom...
but seeing him crawl around and then have tophers face peek out of the costume...kinda weird. esp when the voice would change
