    Re: Spider-Man 3

yea so i saw spider-man 3 and i thought it was probably the worst of the three, i think that what happened is that they tried to put too many villains in there. Green Goblin was stupid, sand man was pointless, and they straight up ruined venom...and since when did the black suit ever make peter parker emo...oh yea thats right, it doesn't...good job hollywood

      what

The main focus of the movie is the lesson Peter learns. Venom is just a side thing that further shows to the audience the downfalls of chasing vengence.

Except that Eddie Brock is of a similar body type to Spider-man so it would make no sense to a see a Venom like he is in the comic books.

No, sorry, but I would definitely put Green Goblin above Venom in terms of arch nemesis. Think of the Batman movies. They killed Joker in the very first one, but went on to make more with Penguin and Catwoman, Twoface and the Riddler, and finally Mr. Freeze and Poison Ivy. I'll admit the Batman films got worse the more of them there were, but that's not because of the villains. Also, Spidey has tons more villains that are notable enough for a movie. I mean, hell, they haven't even touched on Black Cat.

That aside, I believe the contracts that the actors had only took them into 3 movies. If there is to be a fourth I'm quite sure they'd have to work something out for it.

Too bad two of those are obviously promo shots, two of them are shops, one of them is actually Brock being engulfed, and two of them appear to be on the set shots. There is actually one shot there that is in the film, but it's CG so who cares.

like the whole meteriote scene... I thought John Jameson was supposed to bring him back from a space mission or something!
That only happened in the cartoon. Using a meteorite to deliver it strays from the comic just as much, is easier for them than having to land a space shuttle in New York and doesn't require that they bring back the actor who played John Jameson.

NOT the comic book fans who are more likely to enjoy an actual explanation of everyone's backstory.
Should have been obvious... look at the first film. Green Goblin is TOTALLY changed, and definitely not for the better. Doc Ock's character design seemed a lot more straightforward, but obviously things would be changed. Then we see the third film stuff. First, the black suit. Not even close to the comic. Then we see some things of Venom... closer, but still obviously not entirely right. And even Harry... he wasn't even given title of Green Goblin or Hobgoblin that he had in various comics, just a simple "New Goblin".

What I'm trying to get at here is that it should be obvious it wouldn't be direct translation of anything.

And by the way, I will be personally murdering anyone who says Peter was emo. Just because someone wears their hair in a style which is popularly identified with a certain group of people does not mean that they are one of those kind of people, especially since those kind of people who identify themselves with that group would very rarely actually wear their hair in that way. And think: Peter actually cried in more than one instance in the movie. Was he wearing the black suit for any of it?

For those who dont know, the original way that Spiderman got the Symbiote costume is explained in the Secret Wars. Google it and find out because I dont really feel like explaining it.

PS-I vote for a Secret Wars movie. That would kick so much ass.

Wouldn't work. You can't have a super hero movie without the human side and that's what a Secret Wars movie would be.

Also, they'd have to bring in all of the stars who have played the characters so far and pay tons of cash or they'd need to get cheap unknowns to play the roles. Either way, it's not worth it for them, as the general populous has no idea what Secret Wars is. Hell, most of them probably never even heard of Venom before (and in actuality, may still not even after seeing this film, because Venom is never identified as Venom within the movie).

It would still kick so much ass, nonetheless. And it would be cool to have some kind of publicity stunt to enlighten people about one of the most epic Marvel events of all time.

Well, the studios have confimed not one, not two, but three additional Spiderman movies. They have yet to confirm Sam Raimi or Tobey Maguire - here's hoping they DON'T give the franchise to Schumacher... Look at what he did to Batman.
"A new take on the epic fantasy genre... Darkly comic, relatable characters... twisted storyline."

Comparison between comic and movie costumes:

                          Venom

(will find a better picture of movie version when I find it or when I finished downloading S3)

Comic version is much more muscular and built. Movie version is more slim and gooey.

                          Symbiote Spiderman

Comic version is all black and has a bigger spider. Movie version is basically the Red costume but black with a slightly bigger spider.

Please feel free to add more to this.

In Wikipedia, they haven't conformed that they will make a 4th Spiderman movie, but they haven't denied it either. Tobey Maguire (Peter Parker) said that if they wanted to make another Spiderman movie, he'd be glad to help the team again. If they had another movie, who'd be the next bad guy??

Carnage? Mysterio? Vulture? Shocker? Electro? Kraven the Hunter?
                              The Tinkerer? Rhino? Scorpion?

If any of these bad guys would make it, it would ruin the movie.

                                Some random thoughts:
I think the problem with this movie is that it was hyped up too much. Advertised too much, etc.
And I think that if for some reason, this movie was the last of a trilogy of Spider-Man movies, Spider-Man 3 was not a fitting end to a trilogy. To me, it seemed more like an episode in a TV series. The movie had way too depressing of an ending. It wasn't an epic enough ending. A real ending should make the audience feel satisfied... and ending the most popular movie of all time should not have gone like this.
I vote for Spider-Man 4! Fix the mistakes and get a better ending!
