Another thing... i was playing it and someone asked me to play the hardest song. At that time i thought that the hardest song was flight of the bumblebees, so i started playing it and was completely button mashing and the computer teacher goes "stop that! its bad for the keyboard" and the funny part about that is that she didn't block it!

I was playing GGC and some guy that graduated a year earlier and now works on the servers/computers in the school told me to stop before I broke the keyboard.

But yeah it's just another one of those "omg this is different and you're good at it, you're either amazing or have no life" situations

Yeah, I understand the reaction. That doesn't make it any less stupid and ignorant when they act on that reaction by insulting or belittling you, especially with "life card" insults.

The "life card" ("You have no life, get a life") is one of my all-time biggest pet peeves. I can understand it in reference to someone who is in his thirties, lives in his parents' house, plays video games all day, and doesn't even attempt to get a job (the sort of thing that was probably the origin of the phrase) but now to have "no life" means "you do things with your free time that I think aren't worthwhile", and I really think there are kindergarten insults that are more meaningful than that. Or the people who think it's "sad" that someone would spend an hour or two a day on a computer game but that it's perfectly normal to watch three hours of television a day, something that is far less intellectually stimulating than almost any video game.

I absolutely detest the idea that there are "socially acceptable" things you can do with your free time, and "loserly" things you can do with your free time. Free time is free time, I'll do whatever I want with it, and if you think it's "loserly", then go **** yourself.

Serious opinion: neutral. Doesn't bug me that much because I understand where they're coming from. Hey, I've played the life card plenty of times before. I basically always use it jokingly, though. Nobody I know really uses it seriously. Only time it would be serious is if they don't know you at all, in which case you shouldn't value their opinion.

Honestly, I don't see it used much IRL. Just over the internet. 99% of the time I see it on the internet, it's used in a nasty way. IRL, the only people I ever see use it insultingly are people who I already know and who I already consider complete slimeballs anyway, so it's never really bothered me there.

I can recall one time I've ever used it at all, and that was jokingly to Shark after she played OMW for over five straight hours (skipping a class in the process) trying to beat my score...but that was all in good fun, and she agreed with me XD

It just bothers me when I see a video of someone playing something like SM or GH on, say, Youtube, and multiple comments of stuff like "wow u must have no frends get a life loser" on it. That just pisses me off, and I honestly pretty much automatically hate anyone who uses it like that.

Yea, people on the internet are just horrible. I respect everyone that is good at this game, and that's not just because I play it as well. It takes some insane skills to be good at this and people just don't understand. Shash is completely right because people would rather waste their day than do something productive (yes, this is productive lol).

It seems like sports have too much respect in our society and if you don't play one - or even play the wrong one - you are seen as nothing. I have more admiration for someone that is good at math or physics than a football player and that's weird for some reason. No one would ever call someone that played football all day a loser, but if they solved math problems all day then they are instantly a nerd. The more challenging something is and the more brain cells it uses, the less it is accepted.

Nevertheless, people are just as bad in real life - all my friends are guys because I am pretty much the only girl at my college that plays video games in her free time. FFR and a maxed out Final Fantasy game don't make good conversational topics when you are on an all-girl's floor

Actually I usually have 5- 10 people watching me everyday at recess just watching me play SM. I was once playing Speedcore dandy and I got a 720 combo and people were all like OMG ARE YOU THE BEST IN THE WORLD!?!?!?

Anything that has a 16th stream over 175 BPM I can't do at school usually cause i make too much noise
