EvilPeer, how long have you had this red octane metal pad?

I'm going to be buying a metal one in the coming weeks... and I don't know if it's worth it or not. I've actually seen metal pads break, our universities DDR club got 2 metal ones and one of them went down within a week... kinda shook my confidence in 'em, but i don't htink they were redOctane.

Also, if a metal pad breaks wouldn't it probably be more easily repairable than a ripped soft pad, I can sauder if neccisary, but is it even possible to disassemble the metal ones, or are you just screwed?
    Ridiculous Timing!!!!

Nah.. mine is easy to disassemble.
I've had it for atleast 4 months now, and it's still in mint condition. I am always looking after it, so it stays in tip top condition.
