I also skip posts that I can't easily read. Like the above.
If you want people to treat you with respect, have an appropriate avatar and legible posts. That's pretty much it.

        Affect.

        Effect is a noun.

        Affect is a verb.

        Thread title edited.

Also, on-topic: I currently have avatars and signatures turned off due to the fact that I often surf FFR on my phone and loading times can be annoying with them on.

I judge people more by the content of their posts than their avatar.

That post, for example, is one I completely disregarded. This is mostly due to the atrocious grammar and spelling, both of which indicated "noob."

              EDIT- mega ninja-ed holy crap

Re: Can your avatar affect your rep?

I don't really focus on avatars as much as the actual post.. But avatars are a quick way to identify people.

At a quick glance, avs matter. Otherwise, post content is what truly matters.

probably a pokemon? I didn't know if you were involved in that. And you guys are right that post content matters, but if someone has a stupid avatar, i usually just skip their posts. I already have for a few in this thread lol. And yes sry for messing up my title with affect guido but i got it right in the thread itself.

The Pokemon thing lasted much more than 2 days, I don't think that's it.

I was just saying that thats what I immidiately think. If people can prove that they are not a noob, then good for them.

First impressions are a big thing.

Effect can be a verb too, as in to effect a change.
