Okay, I like to see other people's opinions on anime, it's mainly how I get recommendations.
But, geez. 300+ episodes? It can't be that good. (and then you say it is)
I would watch it if it wasn't so long. If I watched 4 episodes a day (personal limit), it would take about 3 months. I'm just not a person for that anymore (DBZ, but thats the past)
Plus, I don't have enough drive space. :P Besides, I have plenty other animes to watch which I can handle (up to 50 eps)
Most long animes do have a tendency of sucking after long periods of time. However, this has survived that test and has lasted far longer than most while retaining the same quality. You should give it a chance instead of dismissing it so easily. Many people in this thread has already said that this anime is of top quality.

I have a 30-episode challenge with this show. It's kinda like those telemarketers who do a 30-day money-back guarantee, except I can't return time.
Everybody I've recommended this show to and who have begun watching it has seen it through to its finish. Even the ones who initially told me it wasn't very good (believe me, it's not just people on FFR). Here's what I say to them:
"If you watch the first thirty episodes of One Piece, you will want to watch the rest. I guarantee it."
There's a reason I've chosen up to episode 30. At episode 30, the initial crewmembers are all introduced. Therefore, it's a fitting time for you to decide whether or not you want to continue. The first 30 episodes are introductions. The rest of the series is the continuation of the story. The story runs throughout the first 30 episodes as well, of course. Just that the adventure truly begins once he has a crew.
My fellow students have followed the 50 episode challenge and failed to realize how great this show is.
They need to die in a car fire.

well........i don't know what i like between naruto and, one piece well one piece is kinda odd with the ability's, and naruto is cool i some episodes and just comply gay episodes. so i have to go with one piece on this one.
meh... i don't feel much for the anime. i prefer being exposed to the first medium in which the media was presented before everything else. so, i'll stick to the manga for now....
but once i'm done with that, i'll get back to the anime.
I don't want to watch past 30. I'm going to wait till I have time, the impact of the first 30 where too "OMG WHAT HAPPENS NEXT" for me to handle. Just didn't have time. I also want to watch other anime. I'll get back into it on the weekend.
I have really been enjoying it so far. Luffy makes me laugh loads. Specially when he laughs with that huge grin after taking what looks like loads of damage, as if to say "lol, no chance mate". I love Sanji. He's really cool. I pretty much like all of the cast apart from Nami. I don't hate her. I just don't think anything of her. Anyway. Cool anime.
Hmm... wow I hate the American version but just reading this I might actually watch One Piece. I just have a question, how many filler episodes are there? Cuz I watched like 150 episodes of Naruto and just got bored and quit.
