Stick with Guild Wars.
Then when you get bored of that crap go play Counter Strike Source.
It's what i do.
Every day.
All day.
In the night.
FFR is somewhere in there when i have a wired kb.
****ing awesome, though kind of slow to start out if you don't know what you're doing. Fortunately for anyone who wants to play, I know a good deal about it and LOVE talking about it. TwilightOverlord and Samineru both play, too.
i've always found guild wars to be friggin horrible. yes the pvp is better but to get any good skills you have to grind through the worst story mode ever made. then you have to play about 40 more hours in the random or team arenas to unlock all the rest of the skills that werent in the story mode. only then can you make a character that has been made a billion times before because only a couple select builds for each class combination is at all effective. if you just make a build that seems like it would be fun to play then you probably won't help your team at all.
i would recommend Adventurequest if 1. you buy the guardianship and 2. you dont mind a fair bit of grinding.
also, if you've never played diablo 2 lod, you have to try it. you could probably get it for about 30$. the online play is free and its by the same people who made WoW.
Best Scores: Love-Colored Master Spark AAA, Mute City Remix AAA, Over the Rave AAA, TGWP3 3 good.
WoW and Guild Wars are the most popular MMORPGS atm.
The PvE aspect of WoW is better than Guild Wars, but the PvP in guild wars blows the PvP in WoW away. I prefer PvP to PvE, so I play guild wars.
I should try Guild Wars. I've heard so much about the great PvP. I already thought that WoW's PvP is amazing, but to have so many people say that Guild War's PvP is better is mind boggling for me.

PS - I'm starting Nexus War. If I like it, I might stick to it.
WHEN do you think people die...?
When their heart is pierced by a bullet from a pistol...? No.
When they succumb to an incurable disease...? No.
When they drink soup made with a poisonous mushroom...? NO!!!
IT'S WHEN A PERSON IS FORGOTTEN...!!!

Uhm... Buy the PvP edition?
I buy the PvE edition and don't PvE, I've never had problems unlocking skills, really. You don't HAVE to PvE. What I might start doing is playing WoW until about 8 when we GvG in Guild Wars.
Probably not though.
edit : By the way, all skills are unlockable in either PvP or PvE areas.
