I hear you guys. It seems like the days until Christmas are just melting away, and I don't even care that much. My family and I aren't even decorating or anything. last year I was anticipating it, this year, I just don't care very much. I guess the feeling for me starts at 15. Oh well, maybe I'll be back into it by next year.
It's going to be near 80*F on Sunday in southeast Texas. Is doesn't look like it's going to get cold down here anytime soon. By the way, two years ago on Christmas Eve, it snowed. I wish it did again.
The feeling comes back when you realize that the friends you made were really spies for the enemy and your family winds up face down in your backyard gutter with a note attached to your sister's sweater saying "Merry Christmas".
The excitement of Christmas is a short lived thing. The Christmas spirit only picks up a day or two before the actual days. I do get presents and I don't cheat by opening them early because I have that much self-restraint. It's the least I can do. I also never ask for presents so I'm always surprised as to what I get. However, the spirit ends almost automatically after everyone in my family opens the presents.
