I recently did a bunch of my songs and it works out pretty well. I used GoldWave to convert the mp3 files to ogg and the same program lets you cut songs down too if you're looking to create new files. The length limit is understandable because people wouldn't want to wait for people to finish 6-minute songs when they want to play.

I'll almost guarantee that you don't have the proper file types if they aren't showing up at all. Clean the folders out; the only files in the song folders should be a single OGG-format file, and a single SM-format file. It's absolutely imperative to have them. Delete everything else.
As for synchronization, that's not hard to fix.
1) Open SM file in question.
2) Find the #OFFSET line.
3) If the steps are early, change the value by up to 0.06. Any more than that and you're likely to be setting it late.
4) Likewise, if your steps are late, change the value by up to -0.06. Again, any more and you're probably changing it too much.
EDIT: By the way, if you want me to take a look at files for you, feel free to PM me or something and I'll see what I can do.

Yeesh, I just updated our local ITG2 machine to R21, but now I can't figure out where to get the song files from. I don't have a home computer anymore (I'm at the library), so I can't do anything from there. Any help would be appreciated.
