anyways... i havent read everything above, but

FFR does increase your mental ability in such way that you can comprehend things at a faster speed. That means it can come in handy for things (as mentioned before ) speedreading and intelligence game. It cannot however improve ones intelligence because it doesnt challenge the mind, but the eye-hand coordination cq reaction

but thats just mine opinion next to everybody else XD

Do you think playing these types of games can improve your mental abilities in any way? To get better you have to learn to comprehend more information accurtately and at a faster and faster pace. Has anyone notice their memory, reading speed, or anything else change since you started playing?

I think it gives you better hand-eye coordination. Besides that I think it lowers my IQ lol.

I think so youre testing your reaction time and increasin memory span by remembiring patterns and identifying rythems in the music.

I have recentley started playing FFR and as I slowly get better so does my typing skills, reflexes and reaction time. Typing is a major part of my job and everyday there is a noticiable difference in the speed at which may fingers can fly across the keybord.

Heh. You said screw... but no, I play that game a lot, and my FFR helps it a little. I certainly do better at air hockey, ping-pong, and even some as far as driving, believe it or not. It also help my awareness level and I can be more active when NOT playing it...

As far as smarter? Not so much, but a little as far as my tests taking much less time. However, it DOES curse me when doing something that you need to take your time on, like Albatross18. I rarely get better than last on that game...

my typing speed went up from 70 wpm to my highest of 103 over the course of a year. also, it helped my hand eye coordination so im MUCH, MUCH better in art than i was before i started FFR. i literally went from being completely average in art class to being the best in the class.

all FFR helped me do was draw better arrows, otherwise same old same old.

think of it this way, before FFR i turned test in on average time and got below average grades
NOW, i am done usually twice as fast as others in math, get average grades, and i am very good at volleyball and other sports where u have to use small or short bursts of speed

as for IQ, i bet it went down
133 to 100 o.0 (not really, the day i retested i took 3 tests had had 4 hours of excruciating homework.... and the tests were acutually inaccurate tests)

oh, and i have a record of 100 to 1 in egyption rat screw, 100 being wins!

FFR has improved my ability to read arrows that fly across the screen, lol. I don't think it's made me smarter. Also, it gave me RSI at 14 years old... not fair.

FFR has improved my reaction time drastically and my reading speed is so fast, I can read large novels in a day or two without whoring it. As far as getting smarter.... it just made me slack off in english. Will post report card later.

Anyway, I think it really helps your hand eye coordination. I mean your brain sees the arrows on the screen. Your brain intreprets the arrows and sends the information to your fingers. Your fingers press the buttons which your brain has already memorized. Your brain tells your fingers to press those buttons. Now with people like Shash, he does that process like a super computer. That happens in like .0000003 seconds. Since a super computer does like 3 million calculations a second.

Someone should get an extremly qualified Doctor person to analize FFR/DDR/ITG.

Dont know about FFR but heavy SM playing definitely develops your muscles responsible for lifting and bringing your fingers down, I can see rippling lines of muscles on my arm, not the upper arm. That would not be possible if not for SM since I don't do any particular exercises to develop those.

Acually FFR, DDR and many other games can make you smarter for instance: FFR/DDR helped me understand ratios better and i can write and type faster than every one else i know (Well almost every one!) but a vidio game can teach you definitions for sciance class to, Warcraft 3 Taught me what Metamorphisis is (Didn't teach me how to spell it though!) also video game keep you AWAY from your parents so i really don't see why parents HATE video games...
