I've just received some great news on the Wii Browser. It's coming out December 23rd! And guess what else? It's only announced for... SWEDEN! Hooray!

Believe me, they won't mind paying for more games once they realise it's a LOT of fun, because they might think "hey, if I buy it for him, I might get a chance to play 8)"

My family and cousins all played Wii Sports when we were all gathered at Thanksgiving. It was awesome.
Awesome idea. My Mum and Dad are playing Golf right now. I can hear them in the other room having a whale of a time. Im using this time to post now because I probably won't be post all day. I will be rinsing Red Steel dry XD. I sound quite calm but let me assure you, that's only because I can't find the word to express how hyper I am right now. I might get Wii play before Christmas for when the family comes over for dinner. We usually play a board game together or something. I think the Wii will do just fine.

THE WII IS SO AMAZING I COULD CRY!

I'm pretty sure the Stars system is just credits or something like that. I think we buy these cards worth so many stars and get a code from it that we put onto the Wii. We then use that (like you said) to by Virtual Console games. Something like that anyway.

And graphics are all that count in games, right? Go stick your head in a bathtub full of water. If you stay down there long enough, you'll see graphics more amazing than on any system ever released.

                Re: The Wii is Here.

Sorry, only just clicked about what Squeek said about STARS. When you buy a Nintendo game you get a card where all the instruction manuals are. You scratch off the side and there's a code. You enter that on the Nintendo-europe site and you gain stars. Each game usually has about 250 STARS in them. When you enter them into the site you unlock things to download like Wallpapers of the game you just bought etc. It's quite cool.

Anyway. Red Steel. I was seriously worried it was going to suck. I played it and I love it. Yea, the controls take some getting used to but as far as I can tell so far I think its awesome. I've been having a whale of a time. I was not disappointed at all.

So yea I have a Nintendo USB Wifi thingy that I can use to connect to the internet. So i'll look into adding your console numbers (thats what you do right?) tomorrow. I can't figure out how to get the weather and news channel working and im not sure Im set up right to receive updates and that. I just updated my Wii then but like I said im not sure whether I'll update stuff on it's own. And do you have to leave it on to do that? Anyway, yea loads of questions sorry guys. My heads still buzzing with all the Wii coolness and that.

Oh and Wii sports is awesome. My whole family was playing today. Baseball mainly. My older brother Jon hit 6 homers first time. He hit like a 180 second bat. Was awesome.

                  Re: The Wii is Here.

                  1) Haha graphics. Graphics are already realistic enough. Who cares about improving them much more than they already have? Besides, no game managed to max out Gamecube's potential anyway.

                  2) That Stars thing is awesome and I hate you for it. =(

                  3) Red Steel IS pretty fun, and once I got my new TV and set it all up a little better for the Wii, I had very little problems with controlling the thing. I hear the multiplayer is one of the most innovative things ever made, so I'll have to try that out next time my friends come home from college.

                  4) Weather and News aren't in yet. They'll probably get updated in once the Opera browser gets put in.

                  5) In America, distance is measured in feet. 180 meters, I'm assuming? My best is ~620 feet, which went Out of the Park (official title).

                    Re: The Wii is Here.

Forecast is being released on December 20th, and News is being released on January 27th. Both will be enabled by a Wii System Update. It seems like that date is set for all regions.

The Opera Browser has been announced for Europe only, and will be released on December 23rd. No word yet on Japan or US. Hey, this sounds an awful lot like a similar browser for another Nintendo system, huh?

Oh, and Nintendo is getting sued for the Wiimote. Not for the reasons you might think, though.

HAY GUYS WE PATENTED SOMETHING WITH A TRIGGER THINGY BEFORE THEM, SO LET'S SUE BECAUSE THEIRS IS SUCCESSFUL!

                        Re: The Wii is Here.

To the best of my knowledge, their IR device is a receiver, not a sender.

Thus completely voiding their argument. The Sensor bar is not actually sensing anything. That's all done in the remote. The Sensor bar just emits an IR signal that allows the controller to learn where it is with regards to the TV.

PS guys - If you liked fishing in Zelda but wondered about those idle fish that never seemed interested in you, it's because they require the Frog Lure to catch. It's behind the girl in the lure shop, but you have to play the mini-game that's in the corner to actually earn it.

THE GAME IS HARD AND WILL MAKE YOU HATE EXISTENCE, so good luck.

Ps - Pyro, you can't just say "sure" =/ Tell me what you want me to demo.

OK, how about the first couple stages on single player or something. Maybe some of the minigames if you have the time.

                            Re: The Wii is Here.

It doesn't have to be monkey ball, but fine whatever.

I have to get some Sports in tonight then I'll get that taken care of.

ps - I'm totally on my way to 100%ing Zelda. I thought I was almost done before. Turns out I could earn two more lures, catch more fish, and even get another bottle. Since I did all of that, I'm going back to getting all the Poes again.

pps - Rayman is looking better every time I see more video footage. It's like Mario Party's minigames but much MUCH better and a single player mode that's worth playing.

Video I saw was like red light green light, but in order to make sure you were stopped at the red light, you had to move your cursor to a circle in the center of the screen.

GameTrailers has lots of videos of every game. Most people there don't seem to like Elebits. Meh. I think it looks awesome.

Ok, the video is uploading. It's all of world one. Now don't assume it's that easy. I've had to replay that whole set about a dozen times now and I just found out I'm still not done. There's finishing without using a continue, getting all the bananas, then getting all the hidden bananas. Just for a measure, I use about one continue between each stage on the worlds I'm on now.

PS - Stage 6-7 is AWESOME. Best stage in this game so far.

                            There.

I'm only like a 105 points away from a pro status in boxing now. Getting good at bullet time evading. My Arms are knackerd. Specially after batting practice. So what am I going to do? Play Red Steel. Still haven't played Zelda yet i'll play that in an hour or two.

PS. Posted my console number in the console number thread.

Wiimote question: is anybody currently using rechargable batteries to power their controller? I've heard they don't work as well/at all, but i'd really like to see if/how they do considering i will probably want to have 4 controllers eventually and don't want to have to keep buying disposables.
