Re: Blizzard

Got hit by it in Kansas. The entire university was closed for 2 days. This is the first time the university has been closed since the 3 years I've been here. It wasn't so much the snow as the unstoppable amount of ice everywhere.

Yep, I did! I feel puzzled though by the fact that people living in the USA got more snow than most of Canadians...!!?

For the record, I have seen worse. 6 or 7 years ago we were hit by a storm that dropped about 100+ cm over a single night (3.3+ feet), closing the city down for 3 days, and schools for the whole week. :D

(Here's a pic from that event: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3245/...c7d19f13c8.jpg )

Same for all of this. White Juan was epic. That was back when I used to skateboard, and it was over my halfpipe!

We had a snow day today, I'm hoping for another one tomorrow ;)

Low pressure systems that feed moister from the Pacific and the Gulf of Mexico largely contribute to the snow here in the US.

For once, you guys have more snow than we do. Enjoy your Blizzard.

I still had school today... Only a nuclear assault is a good reason enough to close my school. I'm serious.

We got about 20-30 cm last night, school was cancelled today. Hopefully it happens again for tomorrow!

Yeah it really picked up in the past few hours in upstate NY. My window is iced shut, annoyingly. I'd guess maybe 7-8 inches since yesterday? And it's supposed to keep up well into Thursday.

Re: Blizzard

Our school district will close if there is 4+ inches of snow since half of it is rural and takes hours to clear off all the roads. We barley got any today and some schools are already closing.

Re: Blizzard

We're supposed to start getting some freezing rain then snow starting at lunch time tomorrow continuing through early Saturday morning.
