    Phantom Jester

Since my CD's going places - especially with the new game project in the way, I might as well post stuff again. I was going for an ominous, carnival-y feel and I think it turned out pretty cool.

Not my kind of music, but still a very interesting flavour... Sounds good to me, though it seemed to lack just a bit in layering. It could use some more... uh... noise?

Just my 2c. Great work here~

I thought the same thing while making it which is why I added a bunch of low-presence music boxes and stuff. The final product actually ended up having quite a lot of channels playing different things simultaneously, so I wouldn't say it's lacking in layering. I also considered adding a subtle backing string ensemble or something similar but the song's pretty cluttered as it is.

I don't really understand what you mean by noise, but thanks for the feedback. )

Echoing what others have said, this is EXTREMELY Castlevania.
I love this, I don't think it's not "busy" enough. The hollow sound where it does not have a string background is one of the reasons it's so creepy, filling out the sound any more would destroy some of that.
If you were looking for a way to fill out the sound a little more as Zageron said, one thing I would consider is actually creaking board sounds. I was sitting in my old crappy chair that creaks when you recline in it and it fit with the music really well haha... just something to consider for more ambiance.

        Anyway this is amazing, props.
Tempted to step this for FFR actually, if we have permission that is

EDIT- wait im pretty sure you gave blanket permission? idk I forget if there were any caveats... anyway this would make a pretty sick easy file, love the atmosphere!

I've given the "previous" FFR boards permission to use anything I make, yes. Not only was that before the site was resurrected, but I also gave blanket permission under a different artist name, so I can understand how it's not exactly crystal clear... but it's still valid, of course; FFR has permission to use anything I make.

Creaking wood is an awesome suggestion, will definitely play around with that when it's time to add it to the game ;>

Yeah that was my main source of confusion, nice to hear we still have blanket permission ^_^

Keep making music, I love your stuff.
