One of our cats died :(

One of our 3 cats at my girlfriends just died overnight we just found her. Does anybody think we should show her sibling her body so he can understand. My girlfriend is really shaken up it wasn't her favorite cat but she still really cared. Just wondering if anybody has dealt with this kinda thing because I don't really know what to do...

I'm sorry your girlfriend's cat died, but wouldn't this thread be better suited in Chit Chat?

If you want to show the other cat its sibling's dead body, go ahead, but make sure the cat doesn't think you killed the other cat. I think doing so would be moreso to make you feel better though because cats don't tend to care much for other cats (even their siblings).

Case in point, sibling cats which were raised together lived together for years, and were separated for about a week and when they reunited they viewed each other as hostile foreign cats. Your cat will get over the loss of its sibling probably faster than you will and if you just buried the dead cat without showing it to the other cat, it would probably forget about the other cat in about a week anyway.
