    Newgrounds artists permission

I have some old files of Newgrounds artists that I want to submit. The problem is we don't specifically have blanket permission from them on the blanket permissions thread.

I remember Tass saying years ago something to the effect of every song on Newgrounds is fair game thanks to their 100% acceptance of the Creative Commons License... but yet we still have Newgrounds artists (i.e. cornandbeans) listed specifically in the thread.

So what's the scoop on this?
The artist and song in question is specifically GS-Screamer's "Bowser the Shredder" but there are other files too that I would like to eventually finish...

For Newgrounds I recall it being more of a courtesy. Sure we are allowed, but it's more polite to ask someone for their hard work then to just take it.

I would attempt to get the permissions, to keep with the FFR style of permissions.

So he hasn't posted anything on Newgrounds since 2006, is not responding to my message I sent like a week ago, and probably 100% wouldn't give a shit at all if I sent his song in. I might anyway but I'd like to be sure...

1000 stepmania internet points to whoever can get in contact with GS-Screamer despite the amazing lack of information out there:

Listen to music from GS-Screamer like Rock'n Temple || Zelda 2 (ID: 10586), Bowser the Shredder || Mario64 (ID: 12306) & more. Find the latest tracks, albums, and images from GS-Screamer.

more hi19 files is always great.

hope to see some more of your files in-game in the near future
and even though Bowser the Shredder has horrible mastering and isnt that great of a song imo, i think it would a fun file.

          go for it.

When they use newgrounds, if the uploader allows people to download the track for free, then the music is public domain. We can use it as long as we give the appropriate copyright information in the file.

EDIT: Also important to note that FFR is a nonprofit, so we should be able to use tracks that are listed as noncommercial.
