    Can't get songs to work for SM

    If this is a double post, something went wrong the first time I posted this...

    But anyway, I just dl'ed Stepmania, read the stickies, got a coupla songs, did what I was supposed to, and they didn't work. What I noticed was that the songs I got all had .dwi files. My question is about whether or not Stepmania can read .dwi files. If it can't, how can I tell (without dl'ing the song) if it's compatible with SM, since nothing I've seen does?

    Also, do you have to pay for DWI? I thought I heard someone mention that in the "get songs for SM" sticky, but I also thought I got a version for free a long time ago. dwi.ddruk.com/downloads only has updates and expansions, so where could I find a full version if it's free?

    Sigh, I know I'm probably doing something dumb to not have these work, but I'd appreciate any help anyway.

      .dwi files are fully compatible with SM.

      Oh, and there's a sticky about getting songs on SM at the top of the Stepmania forum. Its in all caps, so its kind of hard to miss. Just to save ya a little time:

          Thanks, Kilga, although I read that whole sticky while I was trying to figure everything out.

          Update: I was unaware of a folder unzipping was creating, so I've gotten them all to work.

          Can anyone answer my DWI question, though?

              Anyway, I'm fairly certain that you don't have to pay for DWI. But its not something you need to worry about, as Stepmania is better in pretty much every concievable way.
