Probably because of permission and mostly because that song sucks really really bad xD
If you want to play a simfile of it though. There are plenty available for stepmania.

there ialready are tons of stepfiles for it just not on ffr because we lack permission

well cant someone just call up Derude and ask him? I;m sure he wouldnt mind. Maybe an e-mail would be less intrusive.

Yeah. I have his phone number. I was just talking to him the other day about some Techno stuff like beats and bass and notes and synths and all. Nice guy.

There isn't also the permission that's problematic... Even if the song is classic techno at its best, it just isn't original enough. In fact, the whole song gets pretty repetitive pretty quickly. It's alright on Stepmania, because you download it if you actually want it, but FFR doesn't need those kinds of songs in. We always root for the best song choice possible, and Sandstorm just isn't a good one.

if sandstorm was in game it would be one of the most played songs because of how easily recognizable it is. just because the song isnt suited for stepping doesnt mean it should be stepped because the song is good enough to make a generic file enjoyable

I played Sandstorm when I hit puberty. I played Sandstorm when I graduated Elementary school. I played Sandstorm when my wife was giving birth.
I played Sandstorm during the divorce.
