    Music Reviews: Music Media

So here it goes. Since I've been doing all these music reviews I think I'm going to do a weekly review of the latest "hit" albums or hyped-up ones at least.

So since I know this is relevant to tons of people here is my review of "Born This Way."

I'd have to give it 5/10. The reasons:
    -Oftentimes too repetitive
    -Many choruses sounded the same
-The only reason any of the songs caught my attention were the mixing, not the actual singing (which obviously is not Gaga's ability at work)
-Trying to be overly prophetic and failing, although Born This Way does have a nice (although overused) message.
-General lyrics weren't really interesting, again repetitive
-Use of foreign languages was nice and not overdone

Favorite song off the album: SchieBe. Check it out.

It's one of those cd's that isn't for a new Gaga listener, but can be appreciated more by hardcore fans (kinda like Radiohead's album "Pablo Honey")

Yeah I understand what you mean. I'm more of a fan of the old stuff she put out, though all-in-all not a huge fan simply because although she tries so hard to break out and be "interesting" or "original" yet she still falls relatively generic.

I agree. It takes longer to be appreciated when you do your own thing and have your listeners interpret what they want, instead of trying really hard to be "original" and end up sounding, as you said, generic, but the payoff is well worth it.

I really wish I could make as much money as they do truly doing something I love. I think that's why I criticize so much because it annoys me. Also I'd like to hear others' opinions on this

P.s. Friendly Fires' new album was sweet.

I didn't like Born This Way very much even though I really liked The Fame and especially The Fame Monster. My favorite songs are "Born This Way" (which I didn't like at first because I found it preachy; it grew on me) and "The Edge of Glory".

My new favorite album released this year is Black Up by Shabazz Palaces. It's a really interesting, fractured rap album with a bunch of awesome beats.
