                  Man that's ridiculous. To try and prevent people from getting hacked, I put this up:

                  "My good people! To easily protect your account from being hacked, go to the "Account" menu at the top right, click "Account Settings", click "Account Security", click the check box next to "Browse Facebook on a secure connection (https) whenever possible" and enable any other settings you want. Spread the word!"

                  I'm curious as to who would to shop something that gruesome.

                      I've known this, but thanks for spreading the good instead of the bad. I thought these were obvious trojans (that's the correct term, not virus, but nobody listens).

                                          The technically correct term is actually malware, and is probably more of a virus than a trojan since it replicates itself, which a trojan by definition doesn't do. Trojan is a type of malware designed to lay dormant in your system and eventually take effect. They call it a trojan based off the Odyssey of Homer.

                                          Anyway this is one of the reasons why I'm glad I don't really go on Facebook cause it would be pretty easy to coax somebody into getting malware like this.

                                          @GG_Guru: Try Googling for a fix, and until then I suggest downloading an anti-virus software such as Malware Bytes and running a scan while in Safe Mode.

                                              It could be considered a virus, but because it 1) Seems friendly 2) Has an unknown course of action 3) Doesn't seem like it's really meant to cause "great harm" to a computer, I assume it would be more towards a Trojan.

                                              But your right, it could be seen either way actually. Although viruses are often more hidden and sneaky rather than "click me" applications.
