Using the principles of videography (canted angle, high/low angle, capturing prominent lines, rule of thirds, symmetry, etc.), I have to make things something. For example, I made something look lazy by doing a rack focus from a person on a couch to a remote control, while manipulating the foreground, midground, and background, and by using shallow focus.* There must be two main principles per shot, and it can be any kind of shot (I don't want to do a handheld track).
*I bolded the things you need to tell me--what you're trying to do, define the shot, the object/content, and the two principles.
Here is a list of things I can do:
1. Make someone/thing look important or unimportant
2. .. lonely
3. .. nervous
4. .. scary
5. .. childlike or innocent
6. .. small look very big
7. .. like they are in love
8. .. mean and nasty
9. .. heroic
DIFFERENT PRINCIPLES YOU CAN USE:
Symmetry, rule of thirds, extreme asymmetry, high angle, low angle, canted angle, deep focus, shallow focus, high key lighting, low key lighting, texture, point of view, silhouette, shadow, reflection, manipulation of foreground, midground, and background, capturing prominent lines
EMPHASIS ON THE CREATIVITY OF THE SHOT. I have a good idea of what kind of things to do for each shot, but I'm having trouble thinking of the content. Though that's what I want most, remember, it's the PRINCIPLES OF THE SHOT that make the thing look like something.
Help is appreciated. I wouldn't be surprised if this topic dies with no replies.
