    Some Samples

At The Rave was my submission for the menu music competition. I knew I didn't have a shot with the great artists in this community, but it gave me an excuse to make SOMETHING - albeit, maybe not "menu music" exactly.. Still, I don't feel it's really finished (or any of these tracks) which is why I'm calling all of these works in progress - or simply ideas.

"Chord Progression." This was a progression I just randomly started playing in a practice room so I decided to record it. Sounds familiar. If someone knows a song (or more than one song) with a very similar progression, I'd like to hear it. =P btdubs - this is live, upright piano (Steinway, *holla*) with some added stage reverb. (try humming along your own tune to it - it'll make yuh feel good. o.o)

On The Road. Lastly, this is a short loop/variation on a concert band piece I played a while back. I wrote it during a long car ride (hence the stupid title). Of course, it didn't take me a significant portion of the car ride to finish it; it is very short. Ignore it if you like. =\

So tell me what you think - critiques, praise, hate, and ambiguous comments are all welcome. ^_^

    Re: Some Samples

    1) I love the first one. I think 0:28 could use build up (crap I don't know legit terms, I don't produce, so bear with me). Like for the first four measures, a stronger bass hit (I think that's the sound you use for that sort of build up, some kind of bass) on the 1 will do. Then that bass hit on each quarter beat (1,2,3,4) will do for the next two measures (starting at 0:34). The 7th measure (around 0:37.5) will have 8 of those bass hits on eight beats and the 8th measure will have 8 bass hits for the first half of the measure and then the song will cut off with just that single synth. It's a bit more catchy (at least in my head)without digressing from the point that it's menu music.

    2) I love the sound. Also, the way you play it dramatically, using slight tempo changes and volume to your advatange is appealing. Feels like The Games We Played all over again haha.

    3) um..ok? lol i dunno what to say.

    Good stuff.
