Is there anyone from Edmonton, or going there for Animethon 18? I wanted to know if we were doing anything at the festival. If not, I would like to request such action. If we are, I would like to be a part of it.

I might, but you gotta get more than just a few people to create a worthwhile event.
I typically just visit Animethon casually. I went there twice before, and both times I was the "tourist" (i.e. amongst all of the cosplayers). I so don't fit in with the cosplaying crowd - the feeling's just weird haha. -

I might go if I'm not in Japan / Taiwan by mid - late August. Depends.
And no, I don't cosplay. I'll go there just to check out the crowd & hang with a few friends and FFR people too (if more than 15 people go, I'll go)Comment

For anyone on Facebook, there is an Animethon 18 group on FB.
I have been trying to get to Animethon since I was young, but have never gone.
I want to meet other FFR players from Edmonton, as well as experiencing the whole Animethon thing. I know FFR has stuck itself into other conventions around the states and canada, but so far as I'm aware, I don't know that they've been in Animethon. i went to the animethon for the last 2 years i live in edmontion its a fun place i go there a duel and i might come see some other ffr players if you guys come i know 4 other ffr players in the city and they go to the animethon aswell i always went in a hoodie and a bunny hat (mokana from XXXholic)Comment

I used to go a lot with a bunch of friends, Mainly because our main hangout at the time was Baka (Banzai Anime Klub of Alberta) over at the U of A. Playing magic/watching stuff.
Haven't gone the last two years, maybe I will this year just to see how the vendor room has changed. Lol
I'd totally be up for an FFR meet-up if anythings planned. And actually, The Internet cafe I hang out at every weekend usually brings a few computers down. Not sure if they plan to this year but if they do we could even have a MP tournament lol.
