Re: My newest game on Kongregate!
The concept is interesting, but the hitboxes are really weird, so sometimes the circle will die when it's in a corner...
I do sort of like the way the story is told, and the game has the potential to be fun, but the hitbox thing is really killing me, and the fact that it's easy to die if the circle heads towards a corner.
EDIT: Fix the hitboxes to where he dies only when he hits the dotted lines instead of the white space in front of them and I will be fine with this game, since the corner thing can't really be helped. It was bouncing slowly up and down, and slightly to the right. I got to 24 bumps and died because I couldn't tell where he was going to die and therefore placed the wall on top instead of on the right side. Really frustrating.Last edited by NeoMasterPie; 12-19-2010, 06:27 PM. -
Re: My newest game on Kongregate!
Agree'd completely with Neo. The game still has bugs that are making it unplayable. Also once my ball hit a left wall on level 2 I think and just kinda hit back and forth into nothingness and got the rest of the hits I needed out of it.Comment

Re: My newest game on Kongregate!
The angles are a problem. I played through the story mode, but I noticed that some angles could make the game very easy (I got one where it bounced on left/right for like 20 bounces straight, enough to finish the level) and some could make it very hard (if it hits the corner it is really hard to not die). The hitboxes also made it tricky to deal with nearly-vertical or nearly-horizontal angles because it was tough to tell exactly when you needed to have it turn around.
Also this is exactly like one of the minigames from Grid16, haha.
Some suggestions for replayability:
- improve the graphics, you could at least make the ball and paddle look prettier
- powerups, perhaps? I'm not sure what would be good ones
- levels/modes where instead of one side of paddle you get two half-paddles joined at a corner
- some kind of scoring system other than just number of times hit
- changing angles when you hit the ball; maybe there could be something the player can do (like paddle movement) to affect thisBest AAA: Policy In The Sky [Oni] (81)

Re: My newest game on Kongregate!
Improved graphics have been suggested, and I agree with that suggestion.
Replay button on Endless mode.
Grammatical errors in the Extras bit.
Not a lot of replay value, otherwise, the game is pretty good.

When the game isn't fun for you anymore, take a break. It's not a job, nobody here is professional and getting paid to play and force themselves to constantly improve... it's a game.

Re: My newest game on Kongregate!
I only played endless, but the shape tweening is pretty bad (like any shape tween ever), the corner hitboxes are ridiculous, and there should be more changes in angle, either by breakout-style mechanics or just RNG idk.
You need options to turn sound and music on/off and a pause menu, both of which are pretty easy.
Also, the option to retry after losing instead of going back to the menu.
Otherwise, it's refreshingly simple after three hours of bloodline champions
