I prefer the 2nd half much more to the first, but then again I'm not a big fan of ambient

Just felt a bit boring, might need something to liven it up a little bit? The 2nd half was really fun and upbeat, no problems here(sounded awesomeeeeeeeeeee)

Unlike bob bob, I liked the first half much better, I just wish it didn't move so fast.

This is going to be a harsh one, Jimmy. However, I know you can handle it:

Ok, so I have no idea what synth you're using for the initial intro, but it's playing in parallel fifths. From a theory point, it sounds awful. However, if that's the sound you're looking for, continue by all means. The rest of the ambient section sounds fine and well mixed once the higher leads come in. When that section is embellished, it's the high point of the tune.

James, I'm going to be honest with you here, so bare with me. Your mixing on the second part is god awful. Everything jumbles, nothing is heard clearly, and you have blue notes in the lead that clash with the tonality of the chords (from what I can hear, the violin seems really, really flat on the lower notes). The drums are mixed awkwardly, in my opinion. I've often found that mixing them into a center mono channel and having them cut through the mix works wonders. Regardless, Go back and take a bit of the reverb off on the violin and crank the highs up a little more so that it cuts through the mix. Right now, everything just sounds mid-range.

Compositionally, the piece sounds fine (aside from the aforementioned parallel 5ths). However, you and I both know that, so I'm mainly focusing on the sound levels.

I do it 'cause I love you, baby <3<3<3
