    Hopital Brut

This. Stuff. Is. [don't know the word]

Basically the supposed premise is that it's representing the inability to treat insane people with their ridiculous experimental procedures. I guess this is exploiting that or something.

Regardless, I find it just awesome. It's a 45 minute piece put together by 25 or so artists who've formed a little club called the Dernier Cri-- they release books every so often as well (picture books showcasing their collaborative art pieces). They've made a couple of other films too, but I've only seen Hopital Brut.

I dunno what you guys think, but personally I'm in love with it. Once I start watching I cannot bring myself to stop. It's a fantastic array of horrible things that one shouldn't enjoy being entranced with but I guess that's the idea.

For those too lazy to see the whole thing which I'd expect to be most of you, just watch these two things.

    Otherwise,

    Part1

    Part2

    Part3

Yes it's f*cked up beyond all comprehension, and I warn most people who are easily frightened to not watch this stuff!!!!!!!!!

Bump because I ordered one of 1000 printed copies of their magazine Hopital Brut 8 should be delicious.

    Just look at that cover.

It looks dirty and sketchy because it's intended to give you that offset feeling of discomfort. Seeing that right off the bat, I'm assuming, will set the pace for the dark style of the art within.

I looked at the title of the thread and laughed. I saw the Hopital Brut Sample video first many months ago, and that sh*t is trippy.

Hehe, yes, it is trippy as hell. In a bad trip kinda way I'd imagine.

I just love how it draws you in, even if you have no idea what's going on. It's like, constantly moving in some sort of direction, even if you have no idea what that direction is :s
