I am only blocking all your topics because you neglect to read the rules. You arent stupid...you are just oblivious...hence your title. Just read thr FAQs, announcements and stickies. -
...*Slaps forehead* Good Grief...
Here, just read all of this:
Here's a list of things that can get your topic or messages locked/deleted (deleting messages is uncommon compared to locking topics, but it does happen):
• Disruptive posting. It's just that, posts designed to disrupt. This includes but is not limited to large blank or content-free posts, "bumping" multiple older topics (posting in them well after the last post), Posting multiple identical or near-identical messages or topics, including "fad" topics, posting multiple hard-to-read or nonsensical messages in a single or multiple topics such as leetspeak or toggletype, posting large ASCII art (except in topics specifically calling for it), or posting HUGE images over 1000 pixels in width or a gigantic signature. They have paint on your PC for a reason, and there's always lots of free photo/image editing software out there.
• Massive Postwhoring. Posting for the hell of it with basically no reason, or just to increase your post count. This includes one word posts, posts of a quote of someone else and nothing else, posts of a picture and nothing else, etc.
• A topic going extremely offtopic. This is pretty much self explanatory, if a topic goes off topic and no one really cares anymore, chances are it's not worth being active anymore and will be locked.
• A flame war. If the topic has wandered off harmless debate and into a massive amount of flames with no real base anymore then you can bet your ass it'll get locked. Take note that light flaming is allowed, light flaming meaning not a flamewar. Most people in flamewars only like to continue on because they have the support of other people, so if you really desire to continue it, take it to PMs, otherwise don't bitch about your topic being locked.
• Trolling/flamebaiting. These are topics/messages either designed to start flames, or topics with the potential to start a massive flame war.
• Spamming. This means, don't start a topic to advertise your damn outwar/outpimp/kingsofchaos/whatever link, or your own personal forums. Put it in your sig. Starting a topic about it will just get the link removed and the topic locked.
• Disrespecting staff. This means reposting the same topic after it was locked, or bitching about how we do our job constantly. If you have a problem with something or the way we do our job, PM us, otherwise don't whine.
• Offensive content. This includes stuff like goatse, harlequin fetus, swastikas, really ugly people, disturbing stuff, porn, really gory stuff, etc.
• Illegal content. This includes illegal Porn, ROMs, methods/bots/hacks to cheat on online games, methods/bots/hacks to cheat on FFR, warez, etc.
That's all for locking/deleting messages violations. Very much likely your chances are, doing them won't get you in trouble with Synth, so if you do violate a rule, no biggie, just realize your mistake and go on. Now, onto...
Stuff that will get you in trouble with the admins, or banned:
• Multiple repeated violations of certain rules even though you have clearly had them pointed out to you and were told to stop many times.
• Extremely Offensive content. This includes stuff like goatse, harlequin fetus, swastikas, extremely disturbing stuff, lots of porn, etc.
• Illegal content. This includes illegal Porn, ROMs, methods/bots/hacks to cheat on online games, methods/bots/hacks to cheat on FFR, cracking someone's account, posting someone's password, cracking in general, warez, death/wellbeing threats, DOS attacks or threats, etc.
• Impersonation of staff. This means, don't create and/or use a message board account with a name clearly intended to impersonate, mock, or antagonize any of the staff, or otherwise falsely claiming to be staff.
If a topic has served its purpose, i.e. a guy's question got answered, there is no point in leaving it open as the topic would be pointless. So if a guy asked "where can I download Arch0wl's simfiles?" I'd point him to my site and lock the topic to stop any future postwhoring/flaming. This is done in a lot of forums and is NOT an abuse of power, as I've seen threads like that example that were kept open turn into a flaming pile of waste way too often.Comment
