    Suggestion for overall site

    I see a lot of FFR users have 'FFR's Best' as their profile song. Why not make a CD? I also see the snags in this.
    1) Permission
    2) Limewire probably has many of the songs
    3) What are CDs? Use of iPODs, etc.
    4) Profit?

    If so, then why not make an online CD? I mean, make the songs available in a set for download, but for a price. If this doesn't go well, I hope it sparks something new in someone else's mind.

      We can't use FFR's music for "charged" contents like CD, except for a couple of artists' ones.

          I'd prefer if most people go to the artists' site and then download their tunes there. It helps to know more about the artist and it increases traffic on their sites. Also, if it's on a CD, it would encourage people to buy them (unless we're talking about torrents).

          Most artists don't like re-distribution of their tracks anyway (asides simfiles that are cut).

              Indeed, the vast majority of permissions we have are based solely on the fact that it is a non-profit use of their songs.

                          The joy of user-created content is that it's user-created, so it doesn't require staff activity or intervention.

                          The downside to user-created content is that when the user stops maintaining it, it just stays unmaintained.
