Hello everyone,
I'd like to host a new tournament, except not just any kind of tournament. It's going to have a special rule - the stepfiles all have to be made from top to bottom using CTRL+R in the Stepmania step editor (record mode).
I thought this might be a really fun way to get creative and maybe we could come out with some foundations for really fun stepcharts. There will be no prizes in this, it's all for fun.
Additionally to the ctrl+r rule, there are a few more.
-When creating the stepchart, you can do it in sections.
-No editting of the work. Raw material only, please.
-I understand that there isn't a check for legitimacy in this, so I'm going to use the honor system and hope everyone plays fair.
-The notation for the charts must be 64ths or 48ths. Make sure you know the timing of the song well (listen it over a few times at least) and sync it.
-You may have more than one chart, but you have to point out which one you would like the focus on (only one chart will be judged).
-For any secondary charts you may use different notations for making the charts.
-Graphics are optional.
That's it!
As far as judging goes it will be rated on the following criteria:
Fun Factor/10
Song Choice/10
Originality/10
To sign-up just post here.. I'll add your name onto the list. I'll need two more judges along from me, however I'll be needing people with a good amount of stepping experience. Just let me know what you are signing up for.
Judges:
Participants:
GG_Guru
Bluearrowll
customstuff
MinaciousGracious
Xandertrax
Once the list of people involved is finalized I'll get the tournament going. As far as numbers go, I will allow any number of participants. The way it will go is this:
Round 1 - All stepfiles are randomly placed against eachother. For example let's say there are 18 participants - it will be 9 vs 9 and 9 will come out to the next round (it will be in groups of 1vs1, just grouping together for sake of simplicity).
Round 2 - Then 6 of those 9 will face eachother, so 3 vs 3, and then the remaining 3 (all randomly drawn of course) will go against eachother and only one will come out (so all 3 judged and the best of the 3 moves on).
Round 3 - There will be 4, so now it will be 2 v 2.
Final round - You get the idea.
If there were say 25 participants, in the first round it would go 11 v 11 then there would be a group of 3. So there's the chance you may have to go up against 2 people at once at any given point in the tourney (except final) depending on how many people sign-up.
I think that's everything. if you have any questions feel free.
