    [Psychedelic Braindance] Virginia Capes

First track I've finished since returning from Camp Bisco.

I think it's a landmark track. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Absolutely love the rhythms and their interplay.

Lost myself in this song haha. Sometimes I wish your tracks were 20 minutes long. Or 72.

Will listen to this in a bit.

I'll edit with my thoughts as well.

EDIT: It was kinda groovy, but I kind of felt like it was lacking that hook...that thing that makes me want to keep listening to the track. I guess 'Psychedelic Braindance' isn't my genre of choice. Your beats are always top notch though.

What I've listened to of The Tuss I didn't like as much as this.

I can understand how you feel that way. I'm happy with how it turned out. The grooves are solid and they evolve nicely, making it highly dancefloor friendly, but the really interesting aspects of the track are mostly pretty understated, which is something I wanted to experiment with. In other words, the real artistic treasures require some special attention! That is why I am calling it "braindance."

Well, I wouldn't necessarily jump so quickly to that conclusion; this track isn't really indicative of everything that this "genre" has to offer, I merely labeled it that way because it was fitting.

The Tuss blows my mind, man. Top knotch. Very few musicians are as impressive to me. Very clever and subtle, though! 8)

It's interesting, and very well put-together, the transitions are great.

Not as interesting as most of your work has been to me, though. I can obviously see the effort put into this track but it's just not pressing the same buttons your music usually manages to do, even though it's up to par with the rest of your work in terms of quality.

Understood. I will be back to the drawing board before long.

I will have to listen again, and much more deeply. I'll put on my nice headphones and turn down the lights. (I listened to it in stereo my first time.)

I see. Once again, I'll give this another shot under different circumstances.

Make the leads stand out more. Right now they are audible but feel pushed back so nothing wants to stand out.

So what is happening is that the beat is constant, and you got all this great stuff going on behind it, when it should be in front of it, which is like "ok, so what is it that you want me to be listening to?" and it kills a lot of the energy the track is building up as it rolls along.

Valuable commentary, though! I will be thinking about it.
