Tim Burton is directing this thing, and if I recall, the direction he's taking it some wild mixture between animation and live action. Like live action turned into animation.
Oh, and this is a movie and this thread should be in Media. Hopefully a mod (read: devonin) will take care of this.
I've always generally liked Tim Burton's stuff, although his recent projects I feel lost a lot of the initial quirky-eerie charm of his earlier works. I hope he pulls it back through, though.
but yea ive known about alice in wonderland for a while, hopefully it turns out to be good

Sweeney Todd, Corpse Bride, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
???
Not a fan of Big Fish either?
What is so much better about his directoral style shown in Beetlejuice than in Big Fish?
ps He's not directing 9. He's credited as Producer... can you even tell me what creative input the producer of a film provides?
sweeny todd wasnt that great. i left like an hour into the movie. it wasnt cus i dont like musicals, i do, it was just that bad imo.
ive enjoyed the rest of tim burton's movies though. nightmare before christmas still remains my favorite outta him. hopefully he'll make this movie one to remember.

Blue is my favorite color. Thus, anyone in the chat with a blue name is super awesome and deserves to have Chinese food.

tricks on you i guess, because Burton only came up with the story concept and the original art design for Nightmare Before Christmas.
Burton's credit on the film is producer and co-writer. It's his art style and his story on the screen, but he didn't have as much to do with it as you think he did. He was too committed to Batman Returns at the time. Quoted from the Wikipedia article about the film:
On the direction of the film, Selick reflected, "It's as though he [Burton] laid the egg, and I sat on it and hatched it. He wasn't involved in a hands-on way, but his hand is in it. It was my job to make it look like "a Tim Burton film", which is not so different from my own films." When asked on Burton's involvement, Selick claimed, "I don't want to take away from Tim, but he was not in San Francisco when we made it. He came up five times over two years, and spent no more than eight or ten days in total."
Basically, it's more about the director making you believe it's a Tim Burton film, along with using his art style and Danny Elfman's musical style, which itself had become a trademark of sorts for Burton.

Charlie was okay, but it could have been a lot better. I liked the "quirk" of Gene Wilder better. Didn't care much for Sweeney Todd either. Big Fish was decent though, and I liked Batman and Beetlejuice (did not like Edward Scissorhands much). Corpse Bride was alright. I don't really know how to pinpoint it. The earlier stuff just felt darker to me.
OMG
Alice in Wonderland is my favourite story
and Johnny Depp is a sexy beast
I heard about this movie about a month ago, and I thought they were kidding
