    Hardcore Punk

    Anyone a fan? It seems like this forum is full of metalheads and techno lovers, so I would like to maybe get you guys into hardcore. I love 80's hardcore punk bands such as Black Flag, Cro-Mags, Minor Threat, Bad Brains, Siege, as well as modern hardcore punk bands such as Have Heart, The Carrier, Converge, Verse, and Shai Hulud. If you have any questions or want any recommendations on hardcore feel free to ask!

      I seem to dislike people who think they are hardcore anything. What is hardcore about music?

          Well hardcore punk basically is just a heavier, faster version of punk. This applies to hardcore techno as well. It's just a way to describe a heavier, faster version of techno.

                  Why do you laugh? Hardcore was a humongous scene in the 80's which includes legendary punk bands like Black Flag, Minor Threat, Bad Brains etc.

                  And punk is not dead. There are still plenty of punk bands both hardcore and non-hardcore. If you actually know about punk scenes going around in Boston, Baltimore, NY, Philly, or LA you would realize it's still alive and kicking. It's just more under the radar then it used to be.

                      I laugh because everything is being referred to as hardcore. Last time I checked it was just punk

                          Hardcore is a subgenre of punk. A pretty massive and distinct subgenre actually.

                              I go to some local hardcore shows. Most of the music isn't great but the guys always put on a good show and it's nice to mosh every once in a while. A lot of the stuff around here is more metalcore than hardcore but it's comparable.
