    How come I never heard about this live action adaptation of Blood

    Saw an ad for this during the Adult Swim yesterday and had not heard of this film prior. I think this is a good thing. I'm optimistic here. I'm just a little confused why Saya doesn't have a Japanese accent. I don't mind much if she's not played by a Japanese actress, but the character should still either have a neutral accent or a Japanese accent.

      Maybe.... they made it in secrecy?
      And maybe the actress wasn't fully Japanese?

      I dunno, I'm just making smart guesses. Remember Star Trek? Yeah, no one knew much of the movie's production until close to it's release.

      Maybe the actress is like Lucy Lu. Born Chinese, but raised American.

          Absolutely not. The Wikipedia article says explicitly that it was announced back in 2006.

          Not true at all. I knew a lot of about Star Trek long before its release.

          I just made this thread to express the fact that despite the fact that I try to keep on top of these sorts of things, somehow this movie was made without me noticing and the way I learned about it was by seeing a commercial on TV.

          Not only is what you said miraculously both technically correct and profoundly stupid, but like I said above, she is Korean. Not an American of Asian descent. She is a Korean person from South Korea.

                          Yeah, one piece of art should never be adapted into another medium. Darn these animated shows based on comics, these anime based on manga, these movies based on novels, these movies based on comics, these movies based on TV shows, these TV shows based on movies. All truly terrible. A film based on a comic or cartoon or anime or novel could never be entertaining.

                                              I saw a preview a month ago on a movie... I believe it was Transporter 3. Totally couldn't tell what it was until the title showed up, until then I was saying it was 'blade with a Japanese schoolgirl', which isn't really far off...
