Ok i have been playing for quite some time now but the one thing i never got was the difference between overall and average rank what is the purposes for them and my overall is getting lower i am at 6 723 but my avg is like 35 000 and how do i bring down my avg rank?

Overall rank: the more songs you play, the more points you get, the higher your rank.
(EXAMPLE)
stats for Flaming_Dingleberry:
Excite Bike 34,000
One Minute Waltz 153,010
Death Piano 1,152,990
Top Overall Rankings:
Sprite- 432,249,500
Flaming_Dingleberry 1,340,000 [i.e. (34,000+153,010+1,152,990)
Ryoha 529,095

Average rank: your rank on every song is averaged out into one rank.
(EXAMPLE)

Top Average Rankings:

Flaming_Dingleberry 103 [i.e. (1+254+53)/3]
Ryoha 5,152

Your average rank is your combined ranks on each and every song. If you want a better average rank, you have to do good on each and every song, unlike the overall rank, which is purely based on your total score (or how MUCH you play).

your average rank is the average u rank on each song
for instance
rank.1 death piano
rank.5 reality
your average rank would be 3 if these were the only two songs on ffr
but since there are so many u have to play all songs and make your ranks on each 1 lower in order to improve your average rank.
overall rank is just your grandtotal score rising and rising
average is better than overall rank thats my statement now some 1 make it ezer for him*_^Comment

Overall rank is based on grand total score.
Average rank is based on the average of your rank on every song.
