Over the past week (or 2) when i play stepmania it feels as though i'm moving at snail speeds and get frequent mind blocks for no reason. Also it feels like i'm mashing my keyboard way harder than neccasary. This is the keyboard i use: 
and i'm hitting it like a hammer hitting the cement with my fingers.
does this happen to a lot of people, or am i experiencing sudden stepmania retardedness that is irreversible?

I can barely play through an entire song because it just feels to awkward; so i hit esc.
is there a way to resolve this?
