    Why is my .SM file so small?

    So I decided to make my own simfile and I did all the things required. I edit it in Stepmania and save it. I go to upload it by compressing it into a .ZIP and notice after it's uploaded it says no .SM/.DWI I can clearly see there is an .SM file in the folder... there is no dwi though. I don't know how I'd get that. Anyway, I then decide to look at other simfiles I downloaded to find the problem. Turns out my .SM file is waaay too small compared to everything else. It's only like 325 bytes. So obviously that's the problem but I don't know how to make the file larger... I thought I did everything correctly. Was I supposed to use a different editor other than Stepmania? If so how would I fix it without having to start all over again with the steps? Please any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Stepmania is the editor that you are supposed to use, but the fact that your SM file is only 325 bytes is very strange. Usually--the first set of tags (#NAME, #BANNER, etc.), should put you over 1KB.

    Seeing as how it's 325 bytes, there is SOMETHING in there--open it to see what it is?

      This is what is in the .SM file:

      ----------------------------------------------------------------
      #TITLE:Watch Them Fall Down;
      #SUBTITLE:;
      #ARTIST: Dj Spoke;
      #TITLETRANSLIT:;
      #SUBTITLETRANSLIT:;
      #ARTISTTRANSLIT:;
      #CREDIT:Kaishi_Yunizaka;
      #BANNER:Watch Them Fall Down-banner.png;
      #BACKGROUND:Watch Them Fall Down-bg.jpeg;
      #CDTITLE:;
      #MUSIC:Watch Them Fall Down.mp3;
      #MUSICBYTES:0;
      #MUSICLENGTH:00.05:16;
      #OFFSET:0.00;
      #SAMPLESTART:79.96;
      #SAMPLELENGTH:15.00;
      #SELECTABLE:YES;
      #BPMS:0.000=130.000;
      #STOPS:;
      #BGCHANGES:;

      ----------------------------------------------------------

      I know it's supposed to have a lot of 0's and 1's after it since it's in every other .SM I've seen, though I thought Stepmania does that itself while your stepping the song. (for artist "dj" is not spaced. I spaced it cause ffr made it into a smily)

      Edit- Oh and it's 437 bytes not 325...that's still way too low though

        Yeah, you're supposed to have a bunch of 0's and 1's. Do the notes show up when you try and play it in Stepmania?

          Text files compress into very very small sizes.

          It is about 500 times smaller in size in a compressed file.

            Open up "compatibility files".

            See if that works.

              The .sm file has no chart data encoded in it, just the header; there's no way the application of zipping a file would strip it, however, so it must have been absent from the start.

              Is the chart there when you run Stepmania?
