any vocalists out there? need some tips

okay i've only been in choir for one semester, and i tried out for this solo yesterday. The solo was supposed to be sung in tenor, and im normally a bass but i sung it in tenor. my teacher was really impressed for some reason, and i beat out like 8 other choir kids. the thing is, it takes a pissload of air support for me to maintain tenor, and i've been practicing it alot during these past few days and my vocal chords feel like poo. the solo is only 15 seconds long but it takes alot out of me. is there any tips you guys could recommend for maintaining air support, and making sure i dont bust my chords before the show which is in 2 days. i have to do the solo in 3 seperate performances. any tips in general would be appreciated.

do breathing exercises to help build up your lung capacity.

something that we do in marching band is stand up and put both hands at the base of the back of your neck. breathe in for 4 beats (fairly fast tempo like around 120) and out for 4 beats, in for 4 out for 8, in for 4 out for 12....in for 4 out for 32. when you breathe out, say shhhhh. once you hit the top, start going back down. every time you breathe in fill up all of your lungs and exhale it all out when you breathe out. at the end you should feel some dizziness but dont pass out. it really energizes you and you can breathe deeper and easier. hope it helps!
