FFR doesn't have a clan feature but there are plenty of clans to join or you can make you own. Most clans i see all have usernames reflecting what clan they are in.
So you could always start your own, but it might be hard for you to find people that would like to join.
I dont know if that was helpful at all but i tried =/ clans are not really my thing. maybe someone how is actually in one will be able to give you better information

All of the information for user-created clans or teams can be found in the FFR Events forum. If you're interested in joining one there will be a thread to post in there. I would advise against creating one of your own because there was recently a period where a few teams were created and I don't think you'll find a lot of users to join a new one.
What would a 'clan feature' implement that cannot already be tracked by hand? FFR does not prohibit clans; it just doesn't provide any special functionality catering to them.
i think we should be able to change our names... for credits, like xbox live you pay microsoft points. So we don't have to change our accounts to be in a clan.

Lol He asked for one not if there is one! XD
I agree that a clan feature should be made.. It would be cool, finding everyone to communicate with OTHER than a friendslist.
I think being in a clan would make new users prone to stay on the site and to give old users the chance to have yet another thing to compete at. It's a win/win situaton.
I think that the site and the way it functions works directly contrary to the benefits of a clan system. What can you do as a clan that you can't already do either via the user-created clans, or just holding events and tournaments?
There's nothing for clans to actively compete over.
"But Devonin" you say "You could rank clans by the average/overall/tier point rank of the members!" Well, yes you could, except those ranks are already done by the individual, and the degree to which those queries hammer onto the database is already substantial enough without making it also take everyone's individual rankings, add them up, average them out, and rank them too.
I mean, an implementation to directly compare one user's stats to another's has been denied more than once, and this would be far more labour intensive to implement.
The users have already found a way to seperate themselves into teams and groupings. I don't see the need for a formal implementation.
