    First Song

So I got FL Studio about a week ago and this is the first real song I've made from it. I've always been a huge progressive trance music fan, so here is my attempt at it. Hope you enjoy, and please leave comments on what's good and what needs improvement.

First things first, It's very generic, but I'm sure you knew this already. We've all done it. I believe that everyone who's ever opened up fruity loops has done something like this with default gates and generic techno chords.

Now i'll be straightfoward .. most of it is decent. Like I said, generic. But at least the quality of it is pretty nice. I will say that I did enjoy the change at 1:50. Throw a bit of low end in there ( hahha me talking about low end, what a joke) and I think it could really push out alot of power for that spot!

Keep at it, as a first song, the quality is actually pretty good! Not too much clipping and pretty decently mixed. I look forward to hearing how you progress

Jeez, do you have experience prior to this or something?

You should compare this to the steaming load I churned out my first time opening FL

Most people when they start have everything LOUD and clipping all over the place, but this is very nice without clipping

Agree with nubbin about the change being enjoyable and low end needing some more, but also the synth is drowning out the kick a tad at the end. If you up the volume of the kick though you're gonna need to learn how to use a compressor if you don't already

        nubbin:
Yes, I did know it was quite a generic song. I was mainly trying to figure out the different things I could do with this powerful program. I focused more on trying to make smooth transitions and chords, and I did notice the lack of low end. I'm going to try and incorporate a stronger one into my next song, whatever it may be.

If you consider listening to trance all the time as experience, then I guess you could say so lol. I have been a singer most of my life, but I haven't had any chance to create music of my own until quite literally a week ago. As I stated above, I will work on the low end in my songs to come. About the compressor, I honestly have no idea what that is, so I'll look up some stuff on it to try to figure that out. If I don't find anything, I'll come back and ask you for some help.

        Thanks for the comments guys.

This is pretty good for a first song. I know this is a bit late, but I've been kind of AFK.

Much better than my "Let Me Be Your Pirate"... That was my first. haha
