1% of the stepmania community in general can make good files, so don't get your hopes up in the immense trash that is simfile database.

1.) If you can't make your own content, stop your complaining.

2.) Just because you can make files well doesn't mean that you can complain about others being badly--like I said, if it is such a problem to you, then make your own.

3.) FFR actually has good steppers, but going to the Simfile DB is the biggest mistake you can do. A few of the good steppers from ODI make steps here too, go back to ODI.

Yeah so everyone who thinks a movie is bad shouldn't complain because they can't make a movie. Everyone who thinks a book is bad shouldn't complain because they can't write a book. Everyone who thinks is stepfile is bad shouldn't complain because they can't make a stepfile.

Yeah, sorry, but it doesn't work that way. Crap is crap, and anyone who is releasing their crap to a community is going to hear about it from that community, regardless of who in the community can or cannot make stepfiles. As a stepfile artist, releasing your content means you are putting it out for criticism. Everybody has the right to criticize. Or are you so white a knight that you never say a bad thing about anyone else's art because you can't make a production in the same field?

Actually, it does. It's called his opinion and criticism. Both are allowed as far as I know.

You don't do a mistake, you make one. Good point though, the simfile DB is trash.

It's my opinion about the community, i'm not pointing fingers at anyone. In my opinion Bemani sucks also.

but all i was asking for (in an abrupt fashion) is where to find better simfiles.

In packs.

You don't really go to a database and expect good files. It's like going to a fanfic site and expecting good literature; any stooge is allowed to upload their content, and most people either completely miss the point, or understand it and still suck ass.

Now, in my opinion, a lot of packs have some really ****ty files too. I don't know why everyone thinks kommisar can step, foot fungus can step better than he can (oops there's my honest opinion guess I'm trolling now). And he's not the only "prolific stepfile artist" I dislike.

A lot of bad **** plagues packs too, but they're still your best bet for finding good stepfiles because they have SOME type of judging (is your file dumpy enough, etc).

That's cool bro, neither would I, in fact where did I compare them? I was making a point that you shouldn't have to be an artist in order to judge art. Everyone has an opinion of something - movies, books, games, stepfiles - even if they don't create those things themselves. To say you have to submit content in order to have an opinion about it was just dumb, that's all I was saying. I wasn't ****ing comparing them.

even if you think that way, it's pointless to make a thread about it ya know (I mean, thread title).

try out some simfile packs (easiest way to get many simfiles), but you have to find good sims for you from what you've downloaded after all.
