    DDR machine in 3D

    Hey all,

I just thought I'd pop in to this part of the forum, and give you a glimpse of something I worked on about 2 year's back, that I never finished, BUT I will be going back to it soon to finish it off, but will probably start afresh, and have learnt a lot modelling wise since I did these.

Low and behold the DDR pad in 3D in a variety of steps of completion (I started modelling the machine but never got round to finishing it)

I may want to model an ITG machine instead, but since I have none around my area, its impossible for me to take pictures of graphics on the machine, pad (and also reference images) to complete them.

Heck, I found it hard getting reference when I was modelling this from my arcade, since they tried taking my phone away since they thought I was some sort of trouble maker or something, as I was taking pics rather close up.

So... I will complete it at some point:

    Bracket render:

    Uncompleted decal render:

    Completed decals:

    Testing a glow:

    Speaker test:

I hope you like what I at least had, and maybe with your help, if you could get hold of some reference images? different views etc? It'd help a lot!!! Especially if it was an ITG machine.

Only thing thats bad about it is the HUGE brackets. Look at the gap. It looks amazing though but LOL raise those step panels >.>

Heh, thanks you two. *EDIT* 3 :P

Yeah, I was very unsure about the sizes of some things, as I didn't have much to go on, since I couldn't take that many images before I got stopped, and I never tried again.

I will be making it again though, and with people's help, since this is obviously the best place for it, haha, I can finish the entire machine

                Wow. They look amazing. ^_^

The only one I didn't like was the blue glowing arrow. It's too bright, which makes it look off.

Thanks man I agree on the arrows brightness. It was merely just a test

                    Then go play

Am I right in thinking that ITG's arrows light up without you stepping on them? i.e, when a note is meant to be pressed, it lights up? Or does it still take pressing to do so?

When you are playing both pads light up when you are supposed to hit them. Even if only one person is playing.

Edit: I'm pretty sure that's how it is. I can double check for you next time I play.

Yeah I just watched a video, and yeah, the lights do light up when they are meant to and not when stepping on them, like DDR, because the light flashed when he stepped on it, but after, the light turned off, but his foot was still on it.

Unless the lights were out on the other side, it doesn't seem like the other does light up, unless its in 2P mode.

They light up on both sides I promise. I work at an arcade and stare at the ITG machine all day.

I'll take your word for it

References I'm looking for to complete the project, are basically an all round view, with as many snap shots as possible (for details also), and decal, logo, etc shots to be able to redraw them
Any help with this will be greatly appreciated!
I'm pretty much a detail freak, haha

I'm off until Friday this week, so if you can wait until then, I'll take a whole bunch of pics with my cell phone.

I don't know how high the quality needs to be, but that's the best camera I have.
