    Question about lyric files - two simultaneous lines of text?

    Hey guys,

    Does anybody know if there's a way to write a lyric file in a way that can account for two singers that may have lines that occur simultaneously? For example, if singer A has line A from 14:00 to 15:00, but singer B has line B from 14:30 to 15:50, is there a way for me to incorporate that into the lyric file?

    Thanks a lot for any help on this matter.

      Let's answer this question under the bizarre, unthinkable assumption that people still do, mmkay?

      Any ideas?

        Put the second singer's lines in parentheses.

            Hmm, thanks for the tips, but parentheses around words just show up on the file as... well... parentheses around words. It's not showing up on a separate line, and more importantly, not showing up on a separate line while lighting up simultaneously as the first line lights up. And as far as I know, you can't actually change the font of specific words in notepad documents. Perhaps this is just a limitation to lrc files? It's ultimately not a big deal - one of the words in a lyric file I'm writing will just be a bit off synch since there's two people singing at once for about 2 seconds when that word is spoken. I can deal.

                That's an interesting idea, but is there a way to make SM recognize the fact that there are two lrc files? Usually I just directly edit the lyric line of the .sm to tell sm what the lyric file is...

                  add another lyric line in the .sm?

                    nope, I've tried that already. Both:

                    #LYRICSPATH:filea.lrc,fileb.lrc;

                    and

                    #LYRICSPATH:filea.lrc;
                    #LYRICSPATH:fileb.lrc;

                    failed to work.

                      The feature is unavailable in SM builds at this moment (Probably SM4SVN will have this feature)

                        what gave you the idea that you could use two lyric files at once?

                          The closest you can get to that is by using a pipe. It still reads it from start to end, but at least it will appear somewhat like you want it to.

                          Why would you put that in your signature? You've lost your signature rights for a month. (You'll get them back on March 10th, 2012.)

                            Yeah that's what I've concluded too - it's just a limitation of SM I'll have to deal with for now.

                            Thanks everyone for your help!
